4.0 out of 5 stars Professional quality hair straighteners, 20 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I got my wife and daughter to review these straighteners as they are experienced GHD users. They felt that the compact size - smaller than their usual GHDs - made them slow to use on very long hair and it was their view that they should have come with a storage pouch and heat mat. Otherwise they were very positive about them and particularly how they could be used to curl as well as straighten and glided effortlessly through the hair without catching and left the hair looking soft and well conditioned. The fact that they took less than 10 secs to reach optimum temperature was also a plus point. They were complimentary about the pastel colour and light weight.

4.0 out of 5 stars Professional quality hair straighteners, 20 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I got my wife and daughter to review these straighteners. Their verdict was:
They have a very fast heat up time.
They leave your hair with a well conditioned sheen.
They are effortless to use with no snagging.
They can be used to curl as well as straighten hair.
They are lighter in weight than their usual GHDs.
They work well on hair up to shoulder length but due to their compact size are a bit less effective on very long hair.
They were very surprised that they didn't come with a storage pouch and heat mat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best baby wipes available, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Easy to use. Gentle on sensitive skin. Moisturising. Hypo-allergenic. Fragrant. A trusted brand. What's not to like? There are cheaper versions on the market but none superior!

3.0 out of 5 stars An effective toilet training aid, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
For the money and practicality this product is worth the money. I have never been convinced about the merits of potty training. I have tended to prefer my children and grandchildren to use the toilet when they progressed from the nappy stage. The advantage of the gold fish potty is that it is flexible - allowing the parent to potty train their child first or move straight to using the toilet. This is as good as any similar product on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars A personal health must have, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
You may not think that your blood pressure is an issue. But hypertension (high blood pressure) can creep up on us all. Failure to detect and deal with it can lead to strokes, heart problems and kidney problems. This device is simplicity itself to use and provides an effective way of monitoring your BP regardless of age. At the price it's a steal. What price do you place upon your health and the health of your family. Buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars An outstanding and beautiful album., 29 Mar 2014
This review is from: In Each and Every One (Audio CD)
It's 4 years since the last Polar Bear album - the outstanding 'Peepers'. While much of this album is slow pulsing, eerie, throbbing and hypnotically dreamy it also has passages where the quartet are in more assertive, full-on attack mode. The double saxes are the prominent feature as you would expect but i found myself drawn to the drumming which is outstanding with lots of subtle rim work and delicate muted grooves punctuated by sudden outbursts which keep the rhythms imaginative and prevents the vibe from ever becoming predictable. Electronics abound along with synthesised vocals with an assortment of various other beeps, squeaks and whistles set back in the mix to provide subtle sonic accents. The whole album hangs together well - nothing disjointed or out of place, no gap filling doodles or duff tracks. I've awarded 4 stars but was tempted to give it 5 and maybe as I listen more I'll revisit this review and up my rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you liked EST you'll probably like this, 29 Mar 2014
This review is from: v2.0 (Audio CD)
This is the latest offering from this Manchester-based trio. It is EST-like and fans of EST should like this, but the band should not be viewed as an EST tribute act - there is much more to them than that. This is very much modern European jazz. There are shades of hip-hop and dub-step but the whole thing is firmly anchored in a strong jazz sensibility. The melodies are very strong and well arranged. The mood is often sombre and reflective - think Tomasz Stanko and Tord Gustavsen for some sense of the album's feel. I think this might have an appeal which might cross the bridge between fans of contemplative jazz and people attracted to jazz-rooted techno dance floor grooves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works really well. Recommended., 26 Mar 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is an ideal product for removing hard dead skin from around your heels and the pads of your feet. Basically it is a cylindrical rough file which is turned rapidly by an electric motor powered by 4 AA batteries. By applying the rotating cylinder lightly to the affected area hard skin is gradually removed leaving smooth skin which can then be moisturised to good effect. The unit feels robust without being unduly heavy, it is ergonomically comfortable to manipulate and no pressure is required beyond the natural weight of the device itself. Applying too much pressure stops the motor and doing so repeatedly would no doubt burn the motor out. This is a pefect solution for people who wear sandals and flip-flops in summer and don't want to show off unsightly feet. Walkers may also find it useful for treating calloused areas.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very healthy., 20 Mar 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a product probably aimed at frazzled parents trying to get children organised for school and breakfasted before going to work themselves. It might be convenient from that perspective but I would list it alongside many other convenience breakfast foods that reputable nutritionists constantly warn us about. Too much fat and too much salt and with a sickly sweet taste that educates children's palates in all the wrong ways. It is thin, lacks substance and is not filling. Your kids would be better with a natural unsweetened wheat or oat based cereal any day. Make the time to feed them appropriately don't cut corners on their nutrition. You know it makes sense!

3.0 out of 5 stars Well made, expensive with pros and cons., 20 Mar 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a well manufactured baby carrier in terms of quality of workmanship but less so in terms of design. All the components are robust and it is eadily cleaned so the carrier should stand rough treatment over many years theteby it should be able to be passed on (or sold on) to other people when your child has outgrown it ensuring that you get your money's worth out of it. I think it is too expensive to consider otherwise. Adjustment is a takes a bit of getting used to and it can be difficult to get on and off. If you have a petite frame it may not adjust to suit your size.
