2.0 out of 5 stars Reassuring but also annoying, 13 Mar 2014
It has some great features but several incredibly annoying ones.

The video is great, and breathing monitor very accurate, we've had no false alarms so are finding the unit very reassuring indeed.

However, the battery life on the radio unit is terrible, it doesn't even last through the night so needs to be charged far too often. And when you pause the monitor - for changing for example - the night light flashes constantly and polls the radio unit every minute (to warn you it's being paused) but when the baby sleeps in the same room as us and one of us leaves the room to feed/change overnight we find it incredibly annoying as it keeps the other one awake!! And there's no way to adjust that setting. We've taken to switching both units off for night feeds and changing...which defeats the object!

For those reasons only 2 stars...however we wouldn't do without it for the peace of mind, you just have to find a way to use it to fit your routine (like putting a sock over the flashing nightlight for example!!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Value Widescreen Monitor, 10 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We've bought 5 of these for our office and they are absolutely great. Normally used in tandem with a smaller screen as we are web designers and have lots of apps open, but a great value screen, really good definition and accurate colours. No quibbles at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a bin, 10 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's impossible to get excited by a waste bin, so all I have to say is that it's a good quality, office worthy waste bin which deserves 5 stars!

2.0 out of 5 stars The arms are fixed, not adjustable, 10 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Whilst the components are very high quality and strong, the word "adjustable" clearly means different things to different people.

Each joint has to be fastened with a bolt, and once done so it is totally fixed and not adjustable in the slightest.

Perhaps ok if you're settling down to watch a film or something but if you use a multitude of devices throughout your day and want to move it in and out of your workspace then this probably isn't the tablet mount for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what it says on the tin!, 10 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are exactly what they say they are. Whilst not as good a quality as the original ones on my Sony bins, these are a perfectly adequate replacement and dead easy to fit.

The only reason why they didn't get 5 stars is because the faux leather is a very soft and in being slightly heavy handed fitting the first one I managed to put a small tear in it. But no big deal.

Great value for money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utterly Boring, 10 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For a book with the word Designing in it this isn't what I was expecting at all; one of the most boring, text heavy, monotonous, grey-scale books I've ever picked up. Totally un-engaging, and lots of references to the raspberry pi which I couldn't give two thoughts about.

Unless you're a die hard engineer or computer programmer (i.e. not a website designer/web app developer like me) then don't bother buying this book.

It's awful, dull and downright boring.

The Marathon and Half Marathon: A Training Guide

5.0 out of 5 stars Highlighting the good and the bad in Marathon Training, 11 Nov 2009
I bought this book when my friends first challenged me to take part in the Stroud Half Marathon. Having not run distances since taking part in cross country races as a youngster this book gave a fantastic insight into the build up and style required to compete in a marathon road race. Graeme gives practical advise on both what you should and shouldn't be doing during the build up to a race, and how best to motivate yourself during that process. I didn't do complete in a world record time...but it felt like it did as I crossed the finish line!

1.0 out of 5 stars OK but I'm sure there's better out there, 6 Jan 2006
This review is from: CSS Cookbook (Paperback)
Having bought the book, I've actually found I very rarely use it. It seems to be a little out of date in terms of the content and examples given when you look at what CSS can actually be used for.
I was hoping for instant solutions to CSS problems as and when they crop up but found my problems very difficult to put in context with regards to this book.
The W3C tutorials are more help, in fact the google and the www generally is more help than this book as a reference guide. Not really recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spot on TomTom well done, 6 Jan 2006
Absolutely perfect! I have a Nokia 6600 and it was pretty much as easy as putting in the MMC memory card and away you go.
In certain areas the GPS reciever can be quite slow in picking up a signal, but once connected it rarely drops out.
Clear voice commands. I did think the screen would be too small but it's very clear and still has the same zoom functions as the other TomTom products.
The only slight downside I have found is that it sometimes forgets the activation details, so you have to enter them again. But a minor glitch, I'd rather spend a couple of minutes doing that than getting lost !
It's an exceptionally reasonable price as well if you compare it to the TomTom Go models for example. you still get all the functions of your mobile phone, which is a lot more compact and easy to carry than the bulky Go units.
A must if you're looking for a handheld GPS solution and already own a compatible smartphone.
