5.0 out of 5 stars Steven Wilson - Insurgentes Limited Edition, 7 Mar. 2009
This review is from: Insurgentes (Audio CD)
In common with another reviewer I was lucky to get one of the 3,000 limited edition box sets. This is up there there with anything the great man has produced. For once an album that lives up to expectations and one of the most original albums I have ever heard. Mr Wilson continues to amaze with his music from porcupine Tree, No-man, black field and Bass Communion. If this was a Radiohead album it would be hailed as a masterpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars The finest Icicle works Album, 17 Jan. 2009
A very underrated and original Liverpool band. A band that did not sell their souls to sacrifice the music in the worst decade in music history. The terrible 80's.A must have for any fan of the band. Also check out any of Ian Mcnabb's solo work.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUSICAL MEMOR OF A LIVERPOOL MUSIC GENIUS, 15 Oct. 2008
A honest book about the ups and downs of a Liverpool music genius. It will have you laughing and crying. An essential read. In a world of plastic pop stars like cold play and the brit pop brigade; it's a crime why this guy is not a household name. Buy blind, head like a rock or any of his albums and you will agree.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another classic album from No-Man, 4 May 2008
Schoolyard Ghost is another masterpiece.A refreshing change to brit pop and radio 1 rubbish. Steve wilson and Tim Bowness continue to produce music that moves people. Also listen to 'Together We're Stranger and All The Blue Changes.

5.0 out of 5 stars There is still hope for British music, we have No-Man, 6 Jan. 2008
This review is from: Together We're Stranger (Audio CD)
One of the greatest british albums of the last 20 years, yes, its that good. Forget Brit pop bands and listen to No-man. Musicianship at it's best. Steve Wilson's excellent musicianship and the amazing emotion from the voice of bowness. Back when you were beautful is heartbreaking. Check out their other work, (all the blue changes). Also check out Blackfield and Porcupine Tree. The other projects Wilson is involved with.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the great albums of all time!, 17 Nov. 2007
This review is from: No Other (Audio CD)
To begin with how the last reviewer can compare Gene to Van the man, is beyond me. Gene Clark at his best was up there with Dylan. Van Morrison is very overated, oh dear. This is one of the true great albums of all time. Gene took great risks making this record, and it paid off.Such an original album. You must have this in you collection.Gene really was a legend.

Porcupine Tree are pushing the Boundaries of music, forget Brit pop it died with the Beatles and the kinks. If you want to follow a Beatles tribute band then choose Oasis. If you want pure talent and originality then look no further than Porcupine Tree. This release from the Tree's front man Steve Wilson under the name Blackfield. The lyrics are heart breaking and music uplifting. A quality second album that matches the first. Check out Porcupine Tree live there amazing. Could not pick a favourite track, there is no filler here.
