I AM A BIG FAN OF OLD AND CLASSIC SCI-FI BOOKS,FILMS AND TV SHOWS, BUT THIS FILM IS A LET DOWN.
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPECIAL EFFECTS, I LOVE BLAKES 7 AND DR WHO AND THEY HAD PRETTY POOR SPECIAL EFFECTS.
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS FILM IS THAT IT IS DULL AND BORING, I COULD NOT WAIT FOR IT TO END AND AS FOR ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THIS FILM I COULD NOT CARE IF THEY LIVED OR DIED!...

if you are interested in classic doctor who and what goes on generally when making a tv show read this. Matthew waterhouse gives a good account of his time on the classic series and reading this he seems a decent and honest fellow. a good read!

different, but good film. would most probably would not appeal to anyone under 30 as there is no CGI action sequences and kick bottom martial arts fights and all the actors are over 15 years of age. if you like films as they used to be ie not 90 mins of non stop brain blowing bubble gum modern crud then this is the film for you ( as long as you like horror films)

Doctor Who: The Dalek Handbook
Doctor Who: The Dalek Handbook
by James Goss
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £7.98

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!, 27 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A complete encyclopedia of the daleks
From there skaro birth to their iconic regeneration into the 21st century.
The entire history of one of the scariest TV monsters of all time (and space).
After reading for the seventh or sixth time I started to realise that you keep coming back to it for help even though you've read the same paragraph 5 times.
It has information from and on 1963 to 2010 episodes, audiobooks, annuals, films, scripts, design sketches and so much more.
If you are new to Doctor Who it's a great book to help you get refreshed with the past,
or if you are an old fan it can help with finding those little bits that you missed.
There is actually NO faults I can find with it.
So go out and buy it now!

1.0 out of 5 stars rubbish!!, 24 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Being a great fan of horror and sci-fi i looked forward to watching these episodes. what a waste of time!! uninspired, dull and about as interesting as a wet weekend in bognor! talk about average!!. i found it a really hard slog to get through these episodes. i have seen some other episodes of tales from the dark side that were from a different series and they were not to bad, but series 2 is a dud... beware............

2.0 out of 5 stars acting classes please!, 16 Jun. 2013
i am a big dr who ( jon pertwee- tom baker)fan and the 3rd doctor is the first one i can remember watching in those far flung days of the early 70s, but this story is very average and a bit of a hard slog to get through.the stand out problem with this story is the terrible acting by rick james who plays cotton, i don't know if he was a professional
actor or the dr who crew just grabbed him off the street and said read these lines- he is a shocker, i just wince every time he opens his mouth, how no one running the show said " hold on this guy is rubbish lets get someone else" is beyond me. compared to the sea devils- claws of axos-planet of the daleks and the daemons this story falls way behind...

not that great a book, not well written. when people serve their sentence then thats it !! let them free, that's the way the law works. books like this are blurred by grief and thus don't make good reading..........
