Heaven Or Hollywood
Heaven Or Hollywood

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite simply, out of the all time forgotten classics., 8 April 2014
This review is from: Heaven Or Hollywood (Vinyl)
Think Alice Cooper meets The Stooges, with the ferocity of say, the MC5 or the Sex Pistols and you're still a way off the mark. Hailing from Rochester, New York, this was the debut of three amazing albums. With the endorsement of Kerrang! magazine the band enjoyed mild success in the UK when this came out. The following release "Letters From London" is also a trully fantastic piece of work (I actually prefer it to this, although didn't on release... guess it's one of those growers). I love this album, mean and dirty with no regard for niceties, just like the band itself.

What else is there to say... pure classic bluesy rock. The debut from the US boys is perfect in every way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where it all began..., 6 Aug 2013

The 9 piece moster called Slipknot took the metal world by the throat with this, their first proper (unless you count Mate Feed Kill Repeat) debut album. Less polished and rawer in sound this could almost be mistaken for experimental at times. You would be wrong though. This is the blueprint for all that was to follow and damned it is too. Essential listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh, how I love this CD !!!, 6 Aug 2013

For me, this is the best, and most complete Slipknot album so far. "The Blister Exists", "Duality", "Circle", "Vermilion", "Before I Forget"... this album is crammed so tight with truly amazing music that sometimes it's hard to take it all in. If you only but one Slipknot album, then make it this one.

The second album from the knot, this record documents them at thier hardest, meanest and most hedonistic. Incredibly hard and brutally raw, a genuine materpiece.

The stunning follow up to the Sublininal Verses, this features incredible tracks like the popular Psychosocial and Dead Memories, the beautiful Snuff and my personal favourite, Sulfer. An essential purchase for both hardcore fans and those looking for an accessable route into the Slipknot back catalogue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slipknot at their rawest !!!, 6 Aug 2013

Recorded around the time of the Vol.3 - The Subliminal Verses album, this live 2disc set shows the nine at their most maniacal, demented and ruthless best. All of the hits up to that time of their career, plus a lot of the stuff they wouldn't necessarily play live these days. A fantastic slice of metal history.

The Last Watch (Sequel to the "Night watch")
The Last Watch (Sequel to the "Night watch")
by Sergei Lukyanenko,
Edition: Paperback
Price: 6.29

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutly thilling !!!, 13 April 2010
Once again, Lukyanenko has crafted a masterpiece of modern story telling. I'm only half way through the book at present but I'm already blown away. All of the usual characters are here, but things have now taken a dramatic twist regarding the human/other relationship. Where the Night Watch grabbed your attention and the Day Watch nailed it to your heart, the last Watch follows the Twilight Watch in such that it really is so very difficult to put down. Totally absorbing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed, 23 Jan 2009
Despite the apparent problems others may be having with Amazon, I do think that they should be rating the heater and not their service. I could not recommend this product more. We have wall mounted our heater (the shape of it lends itself to this function particularly well) although the supplied castors are of a good quality. The heat output is better than many other makes of a similar specification and the built in thermostat is very reliable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent insurgence for the masses, 26 Sep 2008
This review is from: Fight With Tools (Audio CD)
Intelligent, politicised and incredibly potent. Hip hop, jazz, folk and some mental rock stylings fused into some of the most addictive and powerful songs you'll hear. Along with the likes of Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, we now face a new breed of act that respects the listeners intelligence, not takes it for granted.
