4.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation, 14 July 2009
If you are looking to explore the music of John Lennon and want a great compilation then this is the best on the market, of all the compilations available this one goes a little more in depth than the usual'hits' packages and my personal faves have always been songs that aren't the ones everyone knows.
Get this compilation today , it's well worth investing in and the music here is a cut above most stuff you'll ever here- then again it's Lennon so what did you expect?

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!, 13 July 2009
This review is from: Raised on Radio (Audio CD)
Although this album gets a bad press from some quarters for being too Steve Perry driven and being on the more 'pop' side of rock don't believe a word-this album rocks big time with it's collection of stadium rockers and power ballads.
No one else in the history of american stadium rock has come close to attaining the magic Journey generate when they make an album- superb muscianship and fantastic vocals.
Every single song on this cd is a winner ( I have every Journey cd and cannot even fault one thing about this release) and it's a fantastic listen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good compilation, 13 July 2009
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I've never been the biggest ZZ Top fan and mainly know them from their 80's chart busting heydays- if your looking for an place to get most of their 'radio' hits in one place then this is it. Good value and a great listen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation, 13 July 2009
There is little doubt that Midnight Oil deserve a more comprehensive 2 cd compilation set that would provide a more rounded compilation and have double the tracks on this one. That said this 'best of' set provides a good starting point if your just getting into their music \and has a good selection of their big hits and most popular tracks on it from the early years to the 'Beds are Burning ' days of international recognition.
If you love your rock music to be played and sung with spirit and aggression and be a cut above the normal cheesy stadium type bands then Midnight Oil are for you.
Aussie rock at it's best.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Seger studio album, 13 July 2009
This review is from: Stranger in Town (Audio CD)
There has always been a lingering ctiticism of Bob Seger's albums in that they always contain a number of classics and great songs but there are always one or two dodgy numbers here and there. This cd out of all his numerous studio efforts rises above that and delivers a set of classic rockers and ballads whose quality across the album stands up againt any other 'classic'rock artist.Personal favourites include the fantastic 'Till It Shines and famous Final scene.
If you have the greatest hits album and are looking for a great seger studio album to buy then start here-every track is a winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime, 13 July 2009
This review is from: Everything All The Time (Audio CD)
I heard ' The Funeral' by chance on a youtube clip and then started to listen to some more tracks by Band of Horses and couldn't believe it when almost every song was of the same quality.
I took a chance and bought the 2 cd's they have put out and i can't recommend them highly enough- they are sublime musical masterpieces. The songs are fantastic and have a hauntingly sad quality to the slower number while the uptempo songs are just as brillaint.
If you love quality music take a chance on this cd- my personal choices of great songs of this are the Great Salt Lake,I Go To The Barn.... and the superb St. Augustine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic career overview, 12 July 2009
Van halen as a band rock and have always had great songs whether it be with Roth or Hagar and this collection brings together most of their best work.
yes there will always be songs here and there that people will have wanted to see included but that's just one of those things and a matter of personal taste. i have always loved the hagar stuff in general more that the stuff with DLR, but that again is just personal choice.

the three new songs are okish but really i would have rather had 3 more classic songs on here sintead of the the 3 new tunes.

it's a great collection from one of the best rock bands ever seen- you really can't go wrong with any of the songs on here and it's fantastic to blast out in the car while your out driving.

Sixty Six to Timbuktu

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb collection, 12 July 2009
This review is from: Sixty Six to Timbuktu (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic collection and would be a great place to start if your looking for a way to get an overview of the music of Robert Plant. The cd is more heavily weighted towards certain albums and the latter part of his career, but it's still a good set with some fantastic songs on it that shows how great he really is.
Once you factor the rarity cd that accompanies the 'hits' collection into the price then this is truly a bargain and well worth getting.
Great songs- great price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb Introduction to Nils Lofgren, 9 July 2009
This review is from: Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
This cd is my choice if your just starting to get into his music or looking for a 'best of' style cd to put on in the car to enjoy the best of his work.
There are some superb selections on here from the more rockier early stuff to some of his more commercial offerings......there a few tracks that aren't of great quality as you get some ballad style songs aligned with some more rockin tunes all featuring some superb guitar playing and the inimitable voice Nils.
Go buy this -you won't be disappointed.
