Explains why WWI is too complicated to ask why it started but you can only attempt to answer how. Clark goes into great depth looking at causes and factors big and small for each nation from Serbia to Russia and Britain via Bulgaria and Italy.
Highly recommend this book, on another level to anything else I've read on the subject.
