2.0 out of 5 stars Great if you are short, 10 Mar. 2014

The seat/arm/back are fine but the headrest doesn’t go high enough to comfortably support my head/neck. I am six foot so I am guessing that this would be fine for someone 5’ 8” or under.

It is good for an absolute beginner but by January 2014 it is already feeling a little bit out of date.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great until you get to the deal breaker, 28 April 2013

I began this book enthusiastically and loved its debunking of urban Christian myth, but then........ We got to the part about personal 'salvation' and ouch! The opining that a person didnt really have to make a personal decision to follow Christ was one debunking too far for me. God accepts any and everyone IF they come through His son, ergo they need His son in their life, Jesus isn't a dictator and only goes if asked - we all have free will which is a gift we are given - so at the very last point the book fell flat on its face for me. Until near the end it would have been five star, afterwards it had slipped to a one star, or even a no star. A huge shame but I would not give it to a non Christian.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where do I start?, 29 Nov. 2012

The product thus far, apart from being heavy seems to do what it says on the box, HOWEVER the instructions are dreadful, I am seriously thinking of copying them and posting them as a joke on FaceBook. Basically if you are not very IT savvy you may well have a nightmare, I am semi IT literate and just about worked it out but you really buy the product without any instructions. A shame, but really this shouldn't be sold until some reliable instructions are included with the product. Not what I expect from an Amazon seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 29 Jan. 2012

Never before have I really been aware of the physiological basis of how stress can affect willpower. This book is extremely liberating, realising that you can actually change your physiology to a state where willpower is more accessible is empowering. This book should be ready by every GP, health care professional and those caring for 'troubled' children, in fact everybody! It wont be the answer to everyones troubles, but it may help them get their physiology ready to receive other help.

The only thing not so good about it is its title, it doesn't show just how full of help the contents are!

READ IT! Worth every penny!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing and wordy., 5 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having read other books about Aisha I was keen to read this, boy was I disappointed, the biggest problem I think is that the book was written by a man. The initial part where Mohammed takes a nine year old wife was deeply disturbing in the way he described the feelings that she would have had and it wouldn't have taken much more to have made it a paedophiles text, describing how men would feel looking at a pre pubescent child to me was going too far. The text was way too wordy and some radical editing would have made it a much more readable length - once Aisha had reached her later teens the semi paedophile content seemed to abate.

The author seems to have wanted to introduce Islam to a wider audience, the more I read the further and further away from Islam the text pushed you and the more and more I recognised Mohammed for what I think he was, a fabulous politician, military tactician, social reformer but not a prophet. A good man who brought stability and social reform to warring Arabia and for that alone deserving of respect (ignoring the nine year old bride).

As a non Muslim it did leave me feeling depressed that I would never see the majesty of the Ka'aba in all its glory.

Disturbing and wordy.
