4.0 out of 5 stars needs a few more pictures, 31 Oct. 2011
Like all Mary's books, the recipes are fantastic. They always work for me and turn out well. I loved the double chocolate cookies. It is an expanded "Ultimate Cakes " but she states in her introduction that she felt she should create a new ultimate cake book. This one includes bread too. I wish that there were a few more pictures, that is why I have given it 4 stars, not 5. I would recommend it to anyone. If you have never baked before just start with the more basic recipes (Victoria sandwich, or small cakes) Get baking anyway, even if it goes wrong, at least you know what ingredients were in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beginners Guide to Needle Felting; a great start, 13 April 2011
A good little book that gives a basic introduction to the craft. I had been introduced to the craft by a friend so wanted something to explain the technique again and give me a more inspiration. This book fulfilled both those requirements. There are enough projects here to keep me felting for a while, and also ideas that I could, with a bit of thought, expand myself. I have tried the cards first as they are the easiest to do, and then I love the cup and saucer featured on the front cover. The cup could be filled with small items to make a thoughtful gift. Would recommend this book for what it says it is a "Beginners Guide"

4.0 out of 5 stars fast Cards, 20 Jan. 2010
A good book for those who want to make cards quickly. It does live up to its name. One or two designs take a bit longer and require specialist stuff but many use what can be found lying around most homes. For those who want "fast make" cards it is good. Not recommended if you want more elaborate techniques. I like it.

2.0 out of 5 stars She's good considering she's six but too soon!, 12 May 2008
This review is from: Over The Rainbow (Audio CD)
The music is basically Crap. The music sounds like it was made with cheap Early learning centre instruments and is basically hankering the chances of Connie making it when she's older. Her voice is good for a six year old, she's got the basics, but because of her age she can't physically produce a fantastic sound she hasn't got the strength yet. One day I could proably bet she'll be a great singer but not yet.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok time filler but it wont be a classic, 6 Aug. 2007
This review is from: Blades of Glory (2007) [DVD] (DVD)
I saw this film on the way to Australia from
Manchester and yes it was an entertaining timefiller in the long 22 hr flight but I don't think I'll buy the DVD,
it's a see once film so I'd recomend only
renting it cos you'll only watch it once,
it wont be a classic comedy film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Things keep getting better and better, 5 Aug. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This series of Dr. Who deserves the full 5 stars for the new series of doctor who has at last found a true connection with the old series as we learn more about the master and the life of the timelords. It did start (I admit) very blandly (if thats a word), with the first three episodes being very predictable, nice girl finds nice man something weird happens big nasty monsters invade nice man saves day. the only real highlight of the first 3 episodes was the face of boes message for the doctor which was followed through the rest of the series. episode 4/5 however I thought were the best episodes of the modern show so far (others do think differently), mainly because it was UNPREDICTABLE, you couldn't guess how it would end, especially when the doctor "faints" on top of the tower and the Pigs ascending the lift. this puts Martha in control and shows here true colours in helping to save the day without the doctors help...But still the story is incomplete and leves the chance for the story to be completed with the one remaining dalek still out there. The only reasons I heard against this story was people complaining about the science of the show but IT ISN'T A SCIENCE SHOW! it is fantastic Drama. once more after that the stories continued to get darker with the Lazarus experiment which showed off wonderful music by Murray gold which deserves a new album, this led to 42 a great real time thriller and wonderful special effects,(although quite similar idea to impossible planet with the possesion and killing people thing), and then an even more thrilling human nature/family of blood. then it got even better with the highlight of the season Blink the best who episode of the modern series (I said this about Daleks of manhatten/evolution of the daleks but that was the best one back then this is even better) with a fantastic performance by the lead actress(forgot her name) but then came the season fanalie and we wern't dissapointed (well I wasn't) with the villan of all villans THE MASTER (reborn) and the return of captain Jack Harkness (or is it face of Boe) and featured the best actors performance (on a par with David Tennant) John Sims as the Master. the real shame was the death of the master but ...its TV if they want him back, he'll come back, and at the end to cap it off the Titanic bursting throught the Tardis opening the Voyage of the Damned (mwahahaha) with Kylie Minouge (YAY) If I were you by the complete series not only do you get the whole series in great sound format you also get tones of extras and humerous comentries so BUY IT...and BRING ON SERIES 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
