2.0 out of 5 stars US versions?, 6 April 2014
In case these are US versions not only "In Rock" is spoiled by truncated version of "Speed King", omitting approx. 2 minutes of organ introduction, but the album "Fireball" contains a substitution - as we all know "Demon's Eye" was replaced with "Strange Kind Of Woman". That song should have been included only as a bonus on "Firebal", as well as "When a Blind Man Cries" on "Machine Head" or "Painted Horse" on "Who Do We think We Are". Missed opportunity. Unfortunately even separate japanese mini-LP versions of these albums which I own suffer from the same - they released US versions. This should be bearing in mind for potential customers.

1.0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE!!!, 17 Jan. 2013
Do not buy this! This two-fer is an illegal edition made in Russia and badly recorded. Yes I understand that this is the only release where one can find Midnight Delight - the last with Chris Norman, but it DOES exist officially on Ariola BMG in Germany and I own that. Not recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars SET OF 5 ORIGINALS, 26 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 5 Album Set (Audio CD)
Useless to discuss music - if you're reading this, then you might know almost everything about Jethro Tull. I would like to review the package itself in case anybody is considering to buy this. Outer cardboard box contain 5 original albums in mini-vynil replica covers. But bear in mind all 5 albums inserted in simple cardboard cover - if original was fold out this is not. But front and back original illustrations are retained neatly. No inner sleeves, no booklets, no lyrics. Released in Australia in 2012 but here's a breakdown of each album. A Passion Play and Songs From The Wood are the same remasters as released in regular european jewel cases in 2003 with the same bonus tracks. Minstrel In The Gallery and Too Old To Rock'n'Roll are the same remasters as released in regular european jewel cases in 2002 with the same bonus tracks. The only problem is Aqualung - no bonuses and nothing is said about remastering. And as mentioned above the cover is not folded out. Overall impression is very good - sound quality and vynil replicas are welcome because japanese releases in the same form are many-many times more expensive. But this is a steal! This is highly recommended in case you are neither a die-hard fan, nor you do not own japanese editions. But this is the cheapiest way to obtain 5 originals at the price of one or two CD's.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Glam Years, 9 May 2012

With 40 songs aboard this 2CD compilation from German meticulous Repertoire records this 1995 release in my opinion remains the most comprehensive and definitive for most glam-rockers and is superior to any other compilations available nowadays. Unfortunately it is out of print. I own this one and it is on par sound quality-wise. All tracks are original recordings which is not evident regarding Glitter's CD's.
