5.0 out of 5 stars Ryobi RPT 4045 Pole Hedge Trimmer, 19 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having been quoted £175 to trim our conifer hedges, about 70 feet length in total ranging from 7 feet to 12 feet high, we decided to look for economic alternatives.
We have a two stroke strimmer and and a two stroke blower/vac and these are fairly heavy even with their harness so the idea of hefting a petrol hedge trimmer that can reach to 12 feet did not appeal. After looking at the reviews we chose the Ryobi and are very pleased with it's first use. Considering it's reach it isn't that heavy or unwieldy and we needed no ladders and balencing acts to do the job only a small folding platform about 15 inches high for the 12 foot section. It took a leisurely 90 minutes or so. The Ryobi didn't jam or stall.
The hardest part of the assembly was getting the doubled up pole out of the box in which it's a very tight fit. Once the two rubber cable protectors were removed the pole simply snapped together. The trimmer has already paid for itself and the delivery from Amazon was very fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really worth the money, 24 Jan. 2013

I chose this all in one for two reasons, the first being it's photo printing ability and the second being it's duplex ADF ability.
I took the risk of not seeing it in action and relied on PC mag reviews and those on Amazon. The reviews tend to be a little critical of the ink consumption and cost but I was willing to accept this if the photo print quality justified it. It does indeed! As an amateur photographer I do like to print my better shots and Canons 5 cartridge print engine is excellent. Having moved house I also needed to archive loads of documents and thats why the duplex ADF facility was on the list. So far the duplexing works well-albeit slowly-but as I'm not standing by handling the paper this isn't that relevant. Non duplex ADF operation is fast.

Set up was easy and operation is very straightforward. It also looks stunning in it's shiny black trim with everything folded away!

I bought this for home use and to support my hobby so the cost per sheet was not a factor. If you need an office all in one then I expect that you can find one that is cheaper to run. However if you want high quality photo printing with all in one facilities then a Canon with this print engine will make you smile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget The Books Title And Enjoy The Spirit, 5 Dec. 2012

Depending on your definition of a 15 minute meal you can either agree or disagree with the title of the book. If you have all the ingredients ready on the worktop, oven on, kettle boiled, scales at hand, pans at the ready and slicer/blender on line then on attempt 3 you should hit the 15 minutes. But this is not the spirit of the book and it's not a race. The essence is that you can produce excellent meals at low cost with more flavour and variety than any pre prepared meal/take away can do and you don't have to be a trained sous chef to do it. It is also a lot more fun than the microwave and take away and will make you enjoy cooking again. Jamie has gone to great lengths to show the calorific value of each meal and, on page 10, states that the average price of the meals is £3.80 per person but many are much lower than this; the meals are healthy and economic.
This book can give you a new view on day to day cooking so forget the 15 minutes and enjoy the fun and flavour.
