5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive, 29 Jan. 2013
This is actually very good. The same circle of BBC presenters seem to end up one each and every factual/reality show these days, including Richard Hammond himself. But this show is seriously worth a view. Its clear, just from the sheer number of locations used, that some serious money was spent on the show. The concept of the show - taking evolutionary characteristics of animals and applying the science to human situations - may seem a bit of a fad on paper, but its very easy to follow and whether or not there is any truth behind the experiments conducted and the theories suggested, visually it is a great show.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic, 29 Jan. 2013
This review is from: Wartime Farm [DVD] (DVD)
This series is one of the best factual programmes the BBC produces. Amazed it never gets any awards. Ruth Goodman's passion and love for history is clearly conveyed on screen and the guys provide some light-hearted banter when we would normally think of history as a bit boring. A show the whole family can enjoy

Very funny and full of useless but informative information nonetheless. Similar feel to Top Gear - blunt, tongue in cheek and occasionally politically incorrect. What else are you going to do on a Sunday afternoon? The Christmas episode is particularly entertaining, be it Xmas or not

5.0 out of 5 stars Ding Dong, 29 Jan. 2013
This review is from: Casanova '73 [DVD] (DVD)
This show is completely nuts. I saw it featured on a comedy panel show and, being a fan of leslie phillips, got it out of intrigue more than anything. Most bizarre set up, what with the wife knowing full well that her husband
is playing away from home at any given chance yet they go about their married life as normal. Probably the most random and undeservedly forgotten BBC comedy show there is

5.0 out of 5 stars Award worthy, 3 Jan. 2013
This review is from: The Girl [DVD] (DVD)
Great dramatic performances from both leading actors, and well deserved of their golden globe nominations.
Sienna Miller does a grand job of acting the role of somebody trying to act! And Toby Jones' performance, and physical transformation, is captivating.

I really have no idea how factually accurate the film is, but don't let that deter you from checking it out

5.0 out of 5 stars Great classic drama series, 18 Oct. 2012
Great classic drama series from the 80s. After seeing some of the repeats on Yesterday TV channel, I had to
get this boxed set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for overall strength, 17 Sept. 2012
I remember, during the Olympics, a male british swimmer said how he did Ballet to help improve his core strength and stability. So I gave this DVD a try and its incredible! With different sections focusing on different parts of the body, you get a great full body workout. Seriously guys, give it a try. Great for flexibility too and way more fun than yoga. You don't need to put on tutus or sequins

5.0 out of 5 stars Anywhere else left to fish?!?, 16 April 2012
Just when you thought Robson Green had already found the best places to fish, this series finds some truly remote fishing locations which I for one will almost certainly never visit, but am dying to see! I'm also keen to learn how to fish, though I think I'd be going in with high expectations based on this series!

I warm to Robson Green more and more each series, but what I most look to forward to are the fishermen he meets.
They all seem so passionate, whether they are doing it by choice or simply to make ends meet.

Don't let the Channel 5 logo deter you!!

5.0 out of 5 stars YAY!, 11 April 2012
This review is from: Waterloo Road Reunited [DVD] (DVD)
This spin off show is even better on DVD! For less than a tenner, you get all the web episodes merged together seamlessly to make one long feature spin off. Really great to see some of the old characters back, and great that Reunited features just the past students. Always thought the original Waterloo Road is more about the teachers. Check this out if you like cheesy teen drama

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Winter Viewing!, 5 Mar. 2012
This review is from: Cornwall [DVD] (DVD)
This show really surprised me. I often consider these celebrity-lead travelogue shows to be more filler tv but, having never visited cornwall, I'm now keen to get down there over the summer. Yes, I'm sure that in real life Cornwall is not as idyllic as the show manages to make it seem, but I shall stick with the fantasy until I see for myself. Caroline Quentin (whom I've hated in previous presenting roles) was really cool in this series. I found myself laughing out loud a couple of times. If you need some holiday inspiration for a summer staycation, this show is worth checking out!
