Review For Higher English, 8 Nov 2011
Psycho has a really good emphasis on the deeper meanings behind objects that many would just assume are only their for show as props. From the stuffed birds of prey symbolising the intent of "Mother" to the movement of the windscreen wipers as knives Hitchcock successfully conveys the overall theme of psychosis within the movie which is further backed up with the lighting used on Norman Bates as well as the stark high pitched tones of the violins during the famous shower scene.
