4.0 out of 5 stars I really liked this book, 4 Jan. 2016

I really liked this book. Author has a very engaging writing style. My only reason for knocking off a star is the cliffhanger ending. I am desperate to find out what happens! Will be downloading the sequel next weekend.

Very hot fast read. What I loved about this novella is that the heroes has distinct personalities. With a lot of m/f/m books, both men read as the same character.

Ethan Chase made this book. He is a bad boy done just right! He is grumpy and brooding and incredibly sweet. I fell in love with him when he comforts Izzy over the death of her cat. It is really sweet. And then when he buys her a kitten...*swoon*

5.0 out of 5 stars sweet romance, 10 April 2015

Very sweet romance. The premise is very simple: Lauren has been challenged by her poorly grandmother to make the pecan pie for Thanksgiving Day. Unfortunately for Lauren, there are no pecans to be found in the city. On her quest for the requisite nuts she finds a quite delicious man in the form of Jack. It was a charming read, though it did give me a hankering for pie.

5.0 out of 5 stars great romance, 29 Mar. 2015

I loved these characters. They were complicated and real. They had difficult issues to work through and their happiness was hard earned. Anjuli Carver is not your stereotypical heroine. She is flawed. She made bad choices but she was written so well you understood the thought process behind it. One example is the scene in London with their one night stand. It made me cringe, I felt so awful for the Rob. Anjuli acted horribly but i empathised with her and I felt sad for her too. This book demonstrates that love is messy because people are complicated.
There were several smaller subplots that fleshed out the village. You will definitely recognise people from your own life. And the Scottish setting made a nice change. There was just the right amount of Scottish flavour. It wasn't over the top. It felt authentic. Sometimes I read romance novels set in Scotland and it is clear the author has never been anywhere near Scotland. It is all kilts and "ayes" and "dinna kens". The characters in this book actually speak like Scottish people.

I loved this book. Absolutely loved it. That is not to say I loved the characters. Paisley was not a lovable character, at least not at the start. She was deeply flawed but that was the beauty of the book. I really felt I was on a journey with her, watching her grow and at times the process was painful. This book was truly original. If you want a provocative well written read, they don't come much better than this.

Friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes when it is done right, and it is definitely done right in Dirty Talk. It is a very fast read and the characters are fully fleshed out. I would recommend if you are in the mood for a hot read.
