This book is no more the language of london than the works of Shakespeare could be described thus! It is full of modern "slang" of dubious derivation and with little in the way of evidence as to age or proof of use. Seemingly made up in most part.
The author quotes chas and dave on a number og occasions then tells us how Chas and Dave are mistaken for cockneys but are actually north London lads!!
Thereby missing the point completely.
Cockneys are from north London as much as the east end!
There is no true look at the etymology of cockney in it's origins or the progression if it.
