5.0 out of 5 stars lets hope its not a piece of DIRT, 9 Aug. 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
a racing game is a vital addition to any console. need for speed underground was the beast of the street racing, until it came up with nfs carbon - one shockingly bad game.

colin mcrae games have always been good. the graphics are awesome - even on CMR2 on the pc. occasionally CMR games get frustrating, but they are fun and better than other racing games on the market, such as the toca series and WRC games.

this could be a very good game. its hard to go wrong with racing games but its a full market, so CMRDIRT will need to be very good if it's to demand the price tag

4.0 out of 5 stars hopefully a great addition to a fantastic range, 9 Aug. 2007

pro evo have outshone fifa eversince they came onto the market 6 years ago with pro evolution soccer. the gameplay is fluent, the graphics are fantastic. and of course the master league - one of man's great ideas.

hopefully and finally pro evo will license the premiership - the whole of it, not 2 clubs. it may cost a lot to tempt the clubs, but think of it in the long term. fifa's only advantage over pro evo is the licensing. if PE licensed all the teams and added a few more then nobody would buy fifa, pro evo would be the number one seller - as it is already, but number one seller by a whole lot more.

licensing aside, this should be a great game. hopefully a fitting addition to what has been one of the greatest ranges of games.

3.0 out of 5 stars hopefully an improvement on the past 6 years, 9 Aug. 2007

This review is from: FIFA 08 (PS3) (Video Game)
fifa is the original football game, the first one being released over 10 years ago, yet i think its losing ground rapidly on pro evolution soccer. for gameplay, there is only one winner. pro evolution soccer feels like a football game - fifa doesnt. it feels sticky, unrealistic. in licensing terms, fifa smashes pro evo, but this doesnt contribute much to a game. fifa with pro evo gameplay would be one hell of a game.

i like the sound of the Be A Pro mode - it seems like finally, Fifa is trying something fresh. things have fallen downhill since 2001 and the introduction of pro evo - i've played fifa's from 1996 to 2000 and it seems like EA have really put their heart into it, while now the game lags behind others in the market.

if be a pro works, this game could be a huge success. if it doesn't then
my annual £40 going into EA sports' pockets could maybe just stay in mine

4.0 out of 5 stars revolutionary....if there werent so many pieces, 9 Aug. 2007
its a great idea, and it works with the things i have (ipod video 80gb, sony ericsson k800i and psp). the battery life is ok...you can fully charge an ipod twice but then you need to charge the powermonkey again. not to worry though, as it comes with all the necessary adapters, so you'll only need to take the power monkey charger with you.

it comes with a little bag but the pieces are very small and the ipod requires the cable that you use to connect it with the computer. i've lost my one for my phone, but this is great as an ipod charger, as no ipod comes with a wall charger.

great product - just a bit fiddly and on the expensive side as well...
8/10

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been so much better..., 11 Mar. 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Sure, the database is huge, and attributes are great and stadium names and player names are all correct. But (I know it isnt really a bad problem, but I would like to see it lisensed) the Premiership STILL isn't licensed and you have to do a lot of looking on the web to get it licensed.

It's difficult to win. And I mean VERY difficult. Even when I got bored, made a brilliant team and had a budget of [...], (I didnt change the team too much - just bought a few world class players) and still lost to teams like Fulham and Charlton.

That takes some of the fun out of the game. I want a game where its possible to get promoted, instead of sitting in 13th, occasionally winning 3 in a row or losing 3 in a row.

My game no longer works anyway - I've gladly uninstalled it and I'm going to buy FIFA manager 2007. It takes too much space on the computer anyway.

If you want a challenging game, buy this.

If you want a fun game, don't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not top marks, but still a great game, 28 Jan. 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I wasn't exactly expecting perfect graphics and a superb storyline, but to be fair, the story really isn't long enough at all. Great game, good graphics (not awesome, but good) and a few nice cars, but it seems to be cut short a fair amount. I like the idea of the gangs and racing to win territory, except the fact that there are barely any territories available.

4.0 out of 5 stars great, 27 Jan. 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
gameplay is awesome, graphics are stunning although as in the other review, it is slightly (ever so slightly) let down by no player developments and no commentry but for the goals. also, the PES shop has barely any items at all, on PES7 for PSP i would like to see a few more.

wicked game though.
