SCIENCE KILLED THE FUTURE is a top ten HOTEI song, and although the other tracks don't enter that bracket, there's no way this album is only three stars. The first three Guitarhythm ventures were outstanding ( the fourth had 'Surrender' and 'Serious' but not much else, i suppose that album falls into the 3 star ok rating). This album brings the series back up a notch to finish on a plus. No other songs on here are as brilliant as SCIENCE but they are great fun like 'Tic Tac' and 'Psycho Disco' - and Guitarhythm V is also full of surprises ( as mentioned in the other well said review ). I feel that Hotei's standards are so high that anything like this album just can't compete with all his 5 star efforts!

The Highlights for me are the Brilliant 'Precious Deal' and 'Dirty Star'. Hotei crosses over different styles of music successfully and with natural effort ...making his own unique brand of electric guitar driven rock accompanied by heavy drums, bass, keyboard, computer programming and interesting vocals. Test the samples on the mp3 version for a taste! This is the third installment in Hotei's Guitarhytm series and is once again highly recommended.

A Spectacular dose of scintillating guitar, tantalizingly original modern special effects.... with a dollop of Japanese lyrics.....and it's a double helping of Rock!

GUITARHYTHM 2 (September 27, 1991) #1 in Japan charts. Hotei's follow up to his 1988 Guitarhythm is a million seller. This is a double CD with all 24 songs sung in Japanese. BUT....it's probably the best thing since sliced bread. There are lines in english....usually the title or chorus like the terrific 'Where's My Sugar' which seems to be sung by a giant or monster as there appears to be a story going through these songs.

GUITARHYTHM - Tomoyasu Hotei's first solo album. This record was released on 5th oct 1988 ( Oricon Albums Chart Peak Position: #2 ) in Japan.

First time i heard Hotei's version of Eddie Cochran's C'mon Everybody i was blown away by the sheer brilliance of the man. He took one of my all time favourite songs, made it modern without losing that 1958 excitement, and.... well blimey this very tall Japanese guy can play the guitar like nobody's business. The other four songs on here that i give 10 out of 10 to are all originals. 'Glorious Days' 'Materials' 'Strange Voice' and 'Guitarhythm' are all sung in English ( as is this whole album) - but i have to say i'm so glad i bought the other 4 Guitarhythm cds which are sung in Japanese....because they are just as great as this one. GUITARHYTHM only has one drawback. In places it sounds quite 1980s, especially 'Dancing With The Moonlight' ( which was a single released for Britain). I suppose this makes it more outdated compared with the 4 later versions i've talked about. The truth is it's still a hugely enjoyable experience and i play this album all the time,
'You and me together having fun on a motorbike...we walked the streets of Tokyo'....Glorious Days!'

This is one of the best albums. If you see it buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr Harnoncourt's Schubert is as good as his Mozart, 18 Dec. 2014

Absolutely stunning! Mr Harnoncourt's Schubert is as good as his Mozart....and it just doesn't get better than that. So much replay value. I believe this oozes character and charm. Finding it very hard to stop listening to these symphonies over and over! The genius of the conductor shines through....heavily promoting the genius of the composer.

I did however find that the discs only played on my cd player and NOT on my computer. However as this set comes with a free mp3 download of all 4 discs, they are already on the computer. Still, nothing's perfect.

Which words to describe one of the best Mozart recordings?
Exciting.....warm sound.....alive....polished....busy....sophisticated.....Amazing.... Harnoncourt at his rip roaring best?
Yes to all the above, and so much more.

I bought the download of this tremendous 7 CD set back in September and listened to this cycle so much that in November i bought it again this time as the 7 discs!
It is of course all a matter of musical taste. I already owned the Jeffery Tate Symphonies, (which included some greatness and perhaps sweeter heavenly harp like violins) - but these 126 recordings of Mozart's Early Symphonies are something very special indeed. In fact I would go as far as to say that ( along with 'Les Plus Belles Symphonies') that i have never heard a more completely absorbing and more playable classical experience of Wolfgang Amadeus. Thank You Nick you are a Legend.

5.0 out of 5 stars King Of The Whole Wide World., 14 April 2013

Following on from the Epic 'Elvis Presley 8 Classic Albums Plus Bonus Singles' - This 'Vol.2 Four Classic Albums Plus EPs And Singles' is also digitally remastered and enhanced for superior quality.

I bought this 4 cd collection for 'Something for Everybody' and 'Pot Luck' as i already have the other songs. I am once again very happy with the sound and the price. 'Real Gone Records' could not have done a better job delivering a Crisp clear sound.

A nice surprise was the fact that 'King of the whole wide world' was the full 2.41 (instrumental play out at end of song) instead of the 2.02 usual version. I also love the fact that the EPs are all on one disc - These include tracks from films which had less than the standard 12 Presley songs on their Albums - namely 'Flaming Star', 'Follow that Dream', Kid Galahad', 'Love me Tender' and 'Jailhouse Rock'.
The material on this set may not be as 'strong' or contain as many 'hits' as vol.1, but once again each album has it's own unique feel, and for me the only weakness is the 'Girls Girls Girls' soundtrack. There are enough hidden gems like 'Put the Blame on me' and 'Night Rider' to make this collection continuously playable.

Footnote about the release date of this item:
Man, i had to wait an age for this release! Ordered this on the 23rd feb well before the 4th march release date....that release date changed to the 8th of march....that changed to the 17th march....then 24th march...i was begining to think there must be something wrong with the product. To Amazon's credit i received this item on the actually final release day 8th April. Worth the wait but order when items in stock next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality sound. Great Price!, 5 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This collection impresses me because the sound is NOT muffled mono, hissing stereo or 'fake' echo stereo - it's 'Elvis crystal clear' on almost every song, outstanding on some. This definitely hasn't been 'lifted' off old LP's. The 'Elvis is Back' and 'King Creole' tracks sound better than on their original cds! The sound is very clean, not dull but exciting. I already had all the songs but i'm glad I've got this great collection which will get a lot of airplay.

I'm looking forward to receiving vol.2 which is 'Four Classic Albums Plus' [Box Set, Original Recording Remastered] which basically contains most of the few 1955-63 tracks that are missing here.
Having both these sets means the only tracks from the '50's and to the end of 1962 i can think are missing - (apart from unreleased or alternate takes) would be 'When it rains, it really pours','Danny' and 'Ain't that loving you baby'...which were placed on albums after 1963....so maybe next year...

Well done 'Real Gone Music' you have a new old Elvis fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Shame This Will Be Ignored By So Many...., 28 Dec. 2012
Having watched countless historical movies, (including many from Korea and Japan)- i have to rate this at the top of the tree. Unfortunately i can't give my opinion about
the quality of this particular dvd release, as i purchased a stunning version of this disc with slip cover etc from Japan. That version has an almost Blu-ray picture and great subtitles. So i will concentrate on the actually film itself.

Without spoiling the story, the main characters are caught up in a very high quality story that plays out like a drama. What makes this so different from your 'Hero' and 'War of Arrows' kind of movie? Well, there's a gay king, his bodyguard, a queen who must conceive, and some very long 'bedroom' scenes. The latter i must admit (although nothing is actually shown), is pretty outrageous, and certainly not for family viewing. I thought it fair to warn you that there are about 6 such scenes (Body Guard and the Queen) and one which i didn't like (Body Guard and the King!)....However, even with all this going on, the 144 minutes pack in a lot of story, subplots, and two of the best and longest sword-fights I've even seen. Sometimes i just watch these on their own. They are THAT good. The costumes and scenery are outstanding....strange at first - the young boys wear pink, but the King's guards wear a lavender which looks much better thankfully. One other point about the two or three fight scenes. There are a few spears through bellies and sword slicing torsos. Or in other words, the blood sprays freely. It's well worth seeing this film for the fights alone...or for the story or drama. I hesitate to say 'battles' because it's more like twenty people not thousands like in some so called epics. Saying that, this is not low budget, it doesn't get more high quality than this. Enough waffling. If you get the chance watch it, buy it, keep it.
