Knight Of Passion: Number 3 in series (All the King's Men)
Knight Of Passion: Number 3 in series (All the King's Men)
by Margaret Mallory
Edition: Mass Market Paperback
Price: £6.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Medieval adventure, 7 Jun. 2011
As a young Knight Jamie Rayburn and Lady Linnet became lovers in Paris. Every moment they could they sneaked away to be together. Jamie falls hopelessly in love with Linnet and wishes to marry her. Unfortunately Linnet does not feel the same way and dosen't wish to be tied to man and to be told what to do, so she uses Jamie to get her out of a situation she dosen't want. Jamie is utterly and totally devastated, calling himself all kind of fools he walks out of Linnets life.

Years pass and Linnet and Jamie meet again this time in England. When linnet is threatened by old enemies Jamie rescues her and over time he realises he has never really gotten over her. Eventually they manage to put their differences aside and become lovers again and make plans to wed. But just as things seem to be going well Linnet once again puts their love in jeapordy.

I've read all three of Margaret Mallory's series 'All the kings men' and this one is by far my favourite. To me Margaret seems to get better and better with each book she writes. Linnet is a feisty character and it's hard for Jamie to realise he does want her she just needs taming a bit. A great medieval read with plenty of adventure worth reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended Medieval Scottish Romance., 14 Dec. 2010
When Lady Elyne de Burgh was dragged from the water of the coast of Ireland, little did she realise she would be kidnapped from her home by a handsome pirate known only as the Hawk. Ellie knows his type and quickly realises the handsome braggart is irresistible to woman. Ellie thinks he is daring and he plays cat and mouse with danger always escaping by the skin of his teeth. But she will not fall prey to this charming rogue and sets out to prove herself immune to his charms.

Erik MacSorley known only as the Hawk is irresistble to woman and loves them all. So when he captures Ellie the little nursemaid of the coast of Ireland he is sorely disappointed that she seems immune to his charms and that has never happened before. But he is not put off, and sets out to wear away her resistance by sweet kisses and seductive caresses.

Soon time runs out and the idyllic days they share come to an end. Erik has a mission to complete and his duty to the Highland Guard and Bruce must come first. Soon Ellie will be returned to her home and will return to their normal life, Ellie to her betrothed and Hawk to his fight with Bruce to save Scotland from Edward. Soon they will forget about each other forever but will they?

Ever since The Hawk appeared in The Chief I have been longing to read his story and I was not disappointed. I loved his cheeky, charming roguish nature. I also loved the fact that he met a woman who could resist his charms and he suddenly found he was not as irresisble as he thought he was. I found this book to be amusing and full of adventure with a really good storyline. As always a highly enjoyable book that is worth reading. Highly reccomended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A very enjoyable Scottish romance, 26 Jun. 2009
When Sorcha Hay and her cousin Margaret rescue two warriors from a battlefield, they decide to keep them and hold them for ransom. The Hay clan are penniless and need the coin to pay for the young Laird to be rescued from the English.

Sir Ruari Kerr is furious when he finds out their plan. But he is attracted to Sorcha and seduces her to his bed, promising her nothing in return except revenge. But he thinks her unsuitable for a wife, she fights like a man,is poor and has no lands and claims she can talk to ghosts.

later, after he is ransomed, while attending a fair in town he spots Sorcha and Margaret. He and his clan chase them through town and capture them, deciding to ransom them in an act of revenge.

Sorcha is equally furious and hurt when she learns that Ruari has been looking for a wife and vows she will not enter his bed again. Ruari is confused by his feelings for her and knows he cannot resist her no matter how hard he tries.

I loved this new book by Hannah Howell. When I first picked up it I was slightly bored at first expecting the usual Hannah Howell story, which I have read a lot in the past, some good, some bad. However what I liked about this one is the injection of humour in it and found myself smiling quite often. There is also a few ghosts floating around and I loved the chase in the middle of the book. I really quite enjoyed this one and would reccomend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Medieval Series, 15 Jun. 2009
In the aftermath of a battle Stephan de Varley searches for his Blood Brothers. When he overhears a conversation he finds his brothers have been taken captive by a Welsh Lord Rhiwallon. Injured and feverish he saves Arianrhod, a welsh princess, from near rape. When he wins the battle he kidnaps Arianrhod and holds her hostage in exchange for his brothers. As the journey progresses Stephan finds himself more and more attracted to Arianrhod but she is betrothed to another and way above him.

Arianrhod who is on the way to marry her betrothed Magnus a powerful Jarl, when his Nephew tries to rape her. She is shocked by Stephans injuries when he appears from the from the bushes. But she is angry and frightened when he saves her life then kidnaps her.

Both feel attracted to each other but know it is wrong as she is betrothed to another. As Stephan steals kisses and tries to seduce Arianrhod, they both become more and more attracted to each other. What will happen when they reach their destination and Magnus finds out. will they be able to abandon one another to their destinies?

I love the Blood Brothers series the books follow on but each story is a different the last one. The characters are great and Stephan is usual hard man with no morals and very much in charge. Arianrhod is sweet but she dosen't let Stephan have all his own way. Up to now the series has been great and well worth reading. Well done Karin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Medieval Entertainment, 2 May 2009
When Wolfson of Trevelyn is sent by William the Conqueror to capture and dispose of Tarian of Trent, little did he realise how much he would be attracted to her. Although he admires the Lady for her courage, quick mind and her skill with a sword and bow, he cannot be swayed from his mission.

Tarian, who was captured by her uncle by marriage is near deaths door when the handsome knight arrives, and is saved from the dungeon by him. She realises that Wolfson is a hard man and will not be swayed easily from William's command. She must use all of her strength and courage to persaude him from his course.

Both are unprepared for the passion they feel for each other and both have hard decisions to make. Wolfson find it increasingly hard to ignore his feelings for her. Will he defy his king for Tarian or will he destroy the only woman he has ever felt anything for?

This is a great book and I really enjoyed it. I have now read both books of the blood sword legacy and I have to say I liked this one even better than the first. The idea of a warrior princess giving the Blood brothers something to think about was intriguing. They certainly met their match with her not just with her skill but also with her mind. The next book will soon be available and I will certainly be buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Medieval Story, 20 April 2009
When Sir Rohan de Luc rides with his band of brothers to take Alethorpe as a prize for William the conqueror, little did he realise that he would have to face bold maiden Isabel of Alethorpe. Although Isabel cannot hold off Rohan and his men she vows she will defy the Black sword in any way possible.

Rohan de Luc cannot believe this maiden as she defends her home, and is struck by her courage and her beauty. He demands not only the manor but Isabel's herself. Although Isabel vows to fight him in any way possible she cannot help but succumb to this handsome Norman who is determined to have her body.

This is a great Medival read by Karin. I loved all the characters and especially the sexy Rohan who's everything a woman could want. It is a well recommended book and I will be looking out for more from this writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly reccommended, 3 Feb. 2009
Caitrina Lamont is the spoiled cossetted daughter who has no intention of marrying any man, especially Jamie Campbell. The tall, dark Highland warrior is the ruthless enforcer and right hand man to the Earl of Argyl. Caitrina hates him and would do anything to avoid a betrothel to him. But with his beautiful body and searing kisses she feels her resistance slipping. When her Clan is attacked wiping out her family, Caitrina is devastated giving her reason to hate Jamie even more.

Jamie feels instant attraction to Caitrina, but he has a job to do as a law enforcer and he can't let her get in the way. But he finds he cannot resist the sensual beauty who arouses him like no other woman, even with her strong spirit and defiant ways. After her clan is attacked he decides he wants her and will have her anyway he can. Can he melt her resistance and get her to trust him enough?

This is another great book by Monica. It's about love, betrayal and heartache and two people struggling to do what is right for each other. They also struggle between duty and trust. I love the two strong characters of Jamie and Caitrina. Jamie also has appeared in one of Monica's other earlier books Highlander unmasked. All in all a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great scottish romance, 11 Aug. 2008
Conor McTiernay is on his way back from his brothers wedding when he and his men find an English Lady who has been beaten in the forest. Conor wonders why an unprotected lady is in the forest alone, but he realises she is running away from something or someone. When she begs him for protection he cannot refuse her. He decides to take her home with him.
Although Conor has sworn off woman he cannot but help feel attracted to this beauty.

For Laurel Cordell, Conor is a safe haven from the cruel laird who kidnapped her. She will stay with Conor until winter is over and then make her way back to her grandfathers and warn him of the dangers she thinks he's in. But the more she is in Conors company the more tempted she feels by him and tries to fight it.

Conor feels more and more attracted to Laurel as each day passes and by the time he has made it home he knows he cannot let her go and becomes possessive. Laurel wants to succumb to his passion but is afraid for her grandfather and feels she has to protect herself from him and this causes some rows between them.

Soon they are threatened by old enemies and Conor will do anything to protect Laurel from them.

This is a great book by Michele Sinclair I liked the strong characters of Conor and Laurel. Especially Laurel who wasn't going to let Conor get his own way in everything. If you like Hannah Howell I would recommend this book for you. It's a great read

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and well written, 30 April 2008
Sir Rand le Nuit comes to Rivenloch under the pretense of courting the lovely and sweet maiden Lady Miriel. Really he's a mercenary who has been paid to find the dangerous outlaw the shadow.
By the day Lady Miriel is a lovely sweet maiden who hates anything to do with fighting and warfare by night and early morning she becomes the elusive shadow, who from an early age has been highly trained in martial arts.
Upon meeting both know that each one of them is hiding something, but what? What will Miriel do when she finds out who Rand really is? And what will Rand do when he finally reveals the shadow?
This is the third book in the Rivenloch series and it is just as good as the other two. It has everything a book needs humour, intrigue and sex appeal. Rand and Miriel are great charaters both hiding something and each one trying to trip thr other one up. Great read
