4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate, but no Min/Max Function, 4 Oct. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a neat little unit, and it concurs with other thermometers I have in the house, so my guess is that it's accurate to within half a degree C. The only thing I would like to see that it doesn't have is a historical Max/Min function. Apart from that, it's great. Stands upright n 3 small, rubber feet and very stable. Can't be wall mounted though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Bath Mat, 29 Sept. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Super non-slip, and extremely absorbent. This is the best bath mat we have in the house. Because of the wicking effect that the bobbly cloth twists have, it seems to dry itself at an amazingly fast rate without needing to be hung up. Feels great under foot, and looks the part too - nicely stitched and finished. Very happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Professional Bit Of Kit, 29 Sept. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Super easy to put together - I had mine out of the box and up in under 5 minutes without needing any tools. It has a good range of height adjustment suitable from someone 4ft tall to the very lanky. It's stable, and you can wheel it around without fear of it toppling. Being metal, of course it can be used to hold notices as well as flipcharts and used as a regular whiteboard, so very flexible. There is an integrated lip for holding pens integrated at the bottom, which is big enough for 4 pens and an eraser or 6 pens on their own if you use a magnetic eraser. The width adjustable flipchart hooks are super easy to use, and suitable flipchart pads are not very expensive. At the top is a folding cover to go over the top of the pad, which makes for a very neat appearance. The whiteboard surface is good quality, and it can be erased easily as long as you use the correct pens on it! Altogether, a very professional bit of kit which would look perfectly at home in any office or boardroom. I use these all the time when visiting customers - they are very popular.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, Solid Kettle, 17 Sept. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a good, solid, no-frills kettle which is easy to fill, and easy to pour. It's not too heavy, so it should be good for people with limited strength in their wrists and hands. It's tastefully finished in matt brushed stainless, which I think generally looks better than polished because it doesn't show water spots as obviously. The inside has a flat bottom with no exposed element, which also makes it very easy to de-scale. Boils quickly, but doesn't have a light to indicate that it's switched on. Only real gripe, but it's a small one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, Well Made Cable, 16 Sept. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Very nice cable. Usefully long, flexible (in a whippy kind of way) and resistant to get tangled. Has a nice positive fit into my iPhone, and has never given me a compatibility error unlike other leads I've tried. Great stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, 6 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fantastic! One of the best tools I own. Struggled on for years with even good quality measures that aren't as good for transferring measurements to wood to be cut. Fantastic for cutting noggings and similar lengths to fit in gaps, or measuring apertures for blinds. The sharp tail is great for making an impression exactly where the cut needs to be made. Best used when you can hold both ends of the measure in your hands, so even a 3m tape is actually ample. For anything longer, a normal tape measure would be fine. One criticism - there's no belt clip! However, even with that, it's still a 5-star device.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality Pens, 28 Aug. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These pens are really nice quality. They have an ink pump system which allows you to refresh the ink in the nib by pressing it against the whiteboard. This works very well, and there's even a visible indication of how much ink is left on the side of the pens. The nibs are firm, but write well most of the time. Occasionally you can get a bit of trail-off, but you can easily get it working again with a quick pump or two. Line width is on the thinner side of average at 3mm. The ink is easy to erase with a standard board rubber.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Quality Board Eraser, 28 Aug. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This thing is a good size, though people with very small hands may find it a bit of a handful. It has a couple of large magnets underneath it, which help it to stick like a limpet to coated steel whiteboards. This is much more convenient than trying to fit it on the pen shelf. Rubs out as well as any board rubber I've used, and the pads can be replaced by simply peeling them off from the velcro base. Only supplied with a single pad. Just make sure your whiteboard is steel, or it won't stick.

4.0 out of 5 stars Functional but A Little Plasticky, 26 Aug. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is at the budget end of grooming products, and consequently it's a little on the plasticky side. However it is functional and affordable, and not everyone wants to spend the Earth on something as practical as this. Switching the heads is rather tricky until you get the hang of it (which you will after a few attempts). All the trimming functions work well once you get the trimmer correctly configured. If you're not going to be constantly changing heads, it's a breeze to use. The carry case supplied with it is nice too - feels better quality than the trimmer itself bizarrely. Plenty of room for accessories. Overall, a functional bit of kit which is built to a price, and gets the job done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Great Balance, Good Value, 22 Aug. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These knives don't say where they're manufactured (which I actually thought was a legal requirement for all goods), but everything about the packaging, the fact that the grade of steel used is a Chinese stainless grade (5CR15MOV), and perhaps even the use of bamboo as a knife block material suggests China as the country of origin. This in itself shouldn't be at all surprising - show me anything which is affordable that isn't manufactured in China these days. The word 'professional' is used so often as to be meaningless. Let's judge them on the basis of their actual quality.

The knives are made in a traditional design, with a thick tang running through the entire width of the handle, sandwiched between two halves of dark (almost black) Pakkawood and solidly riveted in three places with what look like stainless rivets. Construction is very solid, and I can't imagine the handles working loose under normal use. Pakkawood is an engineered composite wood, made from a combination of hardwood and phenolic resin - it's used a lot in these types of applications and is generally hardwearing. That said - the instructions declare that the knives are NOT dishwasher compatible, and that you should avoid leaving the knives submersed in water to prevent the handles from becoming damaged. This is a compromise you'll need to make if you want an attractive set of knives with traditional wooden handles rather than all-steel ones like the Global brand or plastic handled ones. As long as you wipe down the blades immediately after use, there's no reason you'd need to soak or put them in a dishwasher them anyway. The thick stainless tang and wood sandwiched handles really do look and feel lovely, so it's a worthwhile compromise.

The balance of the knives is very good - they balance just at the transition between the handle and the blade. This makes them sit well in the hand, and makes them easy to use - especially the larger blades. Having handles heavy enough to make them balance well means that they are hefty (especially the larger ones), but this helps to give them a quality feel, without being too heavy.

The grade of steel used is common in knife manufacture, and is known to be easy to sharpen, though may not hold a cutting edge quite as long as a harder grade of steel. It's a good general grade for kitchen use, and not too liable to corrosion, though it's not a good idea to leave acidic things like lemon juice wet on them for long periods, or you may get rust spots appearing. This would generally be superficial though, and you should be able to remove it with a scouring pad. They are very sharp out of the box, and they cut very well. Just for the sake of all that is holy, please don't use one of those ridiculous glass cutting boards - they will blunt your knives faster than you can say Jack Spratt. Invest in a decent quality wooden or polyethylene board if you don't already have one. They may be a little harder to clean, but there's a good reason why professional chefs use them.

The bamboo base is nicely made and very attractive. It is heavy enough not to move around in general use, and it has nice rubber feet on the bottom which help it to stay firmly planted. It it a little top-heavy however, so you need to watch that you don;t accidentally pull it over when withdrawing a knife.

Overall, for the money, it's very hard to criticise these knives at all. They're as good as you could possibly expect for the price. When used as recommended, they have a 2 year warranty, and the phone number in the (nicely worded, proper English) instructions supplied suggests that the distributor is based in the UK.

Just bear in mind that the wooden handles require a little more care than you may be used to, but beauty is generally a high maintenance commodity in all things.
