5.0 out of 5 stars Superb soundcard!, 8 Oct 2014
This soundcard paired with my edifier RT1600 active speakers provides an amazing listening experience.

The experience of watching content on the PC has now excelled as the soundcard greatly enhances the immersive nature of the audio content. There is a much more dynamic audio environment, imbuing tones with a greater punch and depth, whilst enhancing background sounds with nuanced subtleties.

There are lots of options to mess around with, each setting sounds good in its own way and will come down to personal preference in the end. I am using HIFI preset mode with 8 channels and 96KHz sample rate.

My only complaint is the software/control panel, it is horribly designed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job perfectly!, 22 Mar 2014
This is exactly the same as the asus RP-N53 except no support for 5GHz and it isn't as expensive as the N53 model ;) Extends the wireless coverage significantly for all my devices and as a result I get better speeds on my "mobile" devices now. This doesn't seem to get as hot as the N53 model either, which is nice! Installation process is easy and quick. The control panel is more or less the same as it is for other ASUS products, very nicely laid out with lots of options and tweaks. We still have the wireless media playback option too, unfortunately the android app is still poorly designed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what you want and more!, 15 Dec 2013
This device has considerably increased my wireless range throughout the house and as a result my mobile phone gets much better download speeds now. I haven't had any drop outs or problems so far....

Not only does it extend wifi signal but it can playback media wirelessy through a speaker connected to the extender via a 3.5mm audio jack, the android app isn't the best in terms of UI etc. but it does the job and am sure ASUS will improve it with updates in the future......

In terms of installation, it is very easy. Simply plug it in a wall/near you router, hold the WPS button on the side for a few seconds and then hold down the WPS button on your router for a few seconds.

The device is very compact and well designed, it won't look out of place. It also has a night light, which can be turned on/off via the touch sensitive panel (located on the front of the device above the blue LED strip). The touch panel can also mute/unmute music and control a few other things.

My only complaint is that it is a bit pricey.

My device came with old firmware so be sure to update it ASAP, as there have been a few updates that have fixed/improved a number of things.
