1.0 out of 5 stars Lots and lots of errors, 2 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this book as part of the OU M821 course and was astonished by the number of errors in this book. One example is a complex phase diagram where every single arrow was pointing in the wrong direction. The problem is that this book has some tricky stuff in it and if you first have to double check that the book isn't wrong it takes a lot of the fun out of learning. Avoid this book if you can. If you have to use it, make sure you have someone to help when things get 'confused.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Some things are obvious, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded., 2 Sept. 2013

Yes, a lot of this will seem obvious, but there was still a lot that I needed reminding of and frankly it doesn't hurt to be told the obvious sometime.

5.0 out of 5 stars Encouraging, 2 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had a bad back. I had surgery to sort it out. I continued being worried about taking it easy and not doing more damage. I am in no way a doctor. This book, although its really more of a pamphlet, has helped me move away from worrying about my back to having the attitude of just getting on with things and accepting that my back will hurt from time to time. I'd thoroughly recommend it just for that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great if you have a rubbish wifi signal, 2 Sept. 2013

I was struggling with my PC dropping its connection to the router, adding these into the network was dead easy and completely solved the problem. Excellent.

An epic, complex tale spanning decades. I absolutely loved this title and am very, very pleased to have everything else Neal Stephenson has written to read next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizing not as wonky as suggested in other reviews, 2 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I erred on the side of caution when picking a size and if anything it came up slightly larger than I was expecting. I compared the fit to a Scott jersey I had and it came up slightly larger than that did for the same listed size.

That out the way, I absolutely love this jersey. It fits fine, washes fine and has a zip you can undo depending on how hot it gets, so very pleased in all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as strong as Planetary, 2 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Global Frequency TP (Paperback)
I'm a huge fan of the Planetary books by Warren Ellis, so the bar was probably set a bit unrealistically high for this book. This title felt like he was trying out some ideas in a similar vein to Planetary, but perhaps hadn't developed them quite as well.

This is an enjoyable read and has hints of the awesome story in Planetary, its just not quite of the same level overall.

I've not kept up with the main Marvel storylines terribly well, so was pleasantly surprised that this book requires very little prior knowledge of other recent story arcs.

In all, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The art was great. I totally recommend this book.

Montane Men's Velo H2O Jacket-Black-L
Montane Men's Velo H2O Jacket-Black-L

5.0 out of 5 stars Light, good price, does get a bit humid, 2 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm really pleased with this jacket. It fits well and certainly keeps you dry. It also packs down to about the size of an apple, so can be hung off the back of your bike all the time just in case you mis-judge the weather. The only thing to bear in mind is that this is a waterproof jacket, so it will get a bit sweaty if you are pushing hard. For a waterproof jacket this price I'm still happy that this is worth 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but hard to read in the bath, 25 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A great, cost effective way of reading the Invincible story from the beginning. I'm a fan of the standard DC and Marvel superheroes and picked this up on a whim. It stands up to these old favourites very well. The story, whilst still very much a superhero comic, doesn't patronise the reader like some other series do. The only other thing worth mentioning is that this is a very large book, so is tricky, but not impossible, to read in the bath; a key factor in any book buying decision.
