4.0 out of 5 stars Good plot, too much nookie?, 18 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Saving an American naturist resort from the treat of being closed down by an evangelical priest ... Our heroine is slowly lead into naturism by Aunt and her new found love interest. The storyline is great and the way the plot develops kept me reading, however ....
I found the detailed love making got too much attention at the expense of the actual plot! The plot is strong enough in my opinion to have carried the book without the detailed anatomical description of the heroines love making.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good shot!, 18 Jan. 2015

Not just murder, blackmail, police corruption, press lies, eco crimes, small town politics and some forensic soil science set in and around the naturist camp where the female lead grew up and her Grandma still lives.

A good story and an entertaining lead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sexy romp, 18 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very little to do with naturism, the protagonists could belong to any club and just enjoy the occasional naked barbie together.

What you do get is raunchy romp based on a slightly silly pretext but if what you want is lots of sex, girl on girl, boy on girl and girl alone this could be right up your street.

4.0 out of 5 stars nicely executed plot and very scary in places, 18 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A well written narrative, nicely executed plot and very scary in places. Third Reich meets some deeper evil and returns in current era..... I am not a big fan of this type of literature normally but I enjoyed The Last Passenger. A good 4stars.

A minus point for Amazon who offered this as a free download but I ended up paying, not that I begrudge the price!

4.0 out of 5 stars "A Year in Provence" for Naturists? but not in Provence!, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An interesting book about moving to France and finding a new life. Robert Cooper succeeds in keeping you amused without the need to keep bringing his naturist life style to the attention of the reader. This despite it being a key part of the story... just about all of their past life and mentioned as part of the financing of the new life.

Stories of flooded kitchens, banjo playing in bars, market trading and festivals of brass bands. Oh yes and food!

Only 4 stars? The timeline moves backwards and sideways all over the place. This makes it difficult to follow the story in places until you accept it as a series of short stories about different topics that overlap and intertwine around the central characters.

Worth reading a collection of slightly erotic stories based around naked people, with the exception of one tale which about eroticism spoiling simple naked pleasure.

Would make a pleasant poolside book read a story have a dip, read a story .....

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointingly empty, 4 Jan. 2015

A collection of light weight short stories a little short on depth and quantity.

I read them all in the course of an evening and nothing remains

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading ..but not at hard-back price, 4 Jan. 2015

This review is from: Night Over Water (Kindle Edition)
Better than some of Ken Follett's other work but not his blinding best.

The short time frame and the restricted cast of characters available I felt helped with the construction of an almost plausible story and people that you almost cared about ... in a few cases actually I did care but they weren't the central figures.

If it was in the resort library and I saw you looking at it ..... i'd say that is worth reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good read for the sun lounger, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A clever story spoilt by some poor editing mistakes. ..

.As a result of relying on the spell checker we get NATURISTS described as NATURALISTS! and maybe it is American v English but some of the grammar was awkward.
The story line about the DA and the Cop could have been saved for another book where it could have been explored deeper and allowed a bit more space for some of the other characters to have more of life.
One character looses her parents to different illnesses at different parts of the book .. but you'll have to read it to find out!

On the other hand it kept me turning the pages and I enjoyed the story

Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll
Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll
Price: £6.36

5.0 out of 5 stars Isn't it grand to be playing to the stand, dead or alive, 14 Dec. 2014
Aqualung was a long time favourite LP to borrow from friends ...

Too Old To Rock was the first and apart from a history collection the only Tull recording I have felt moved to buy.

A good concept, nicely written story and great lyrics, Ian Anderson on great form and the highly talented Martin Barre playing in a powerful by restrained manner ......

Sadly the vinyl has worn away over the year but the crackles pops and hiss add to the poignancy of the Chequered Flag as it sweeps across the oil-slick track
