4.0 out of 5 stars Series 2 like Series1, 19 Feb. 2014

another series down. An enjoyable read, where Alison has been replaced by Shelley who happens to be Alison's cousin.

Gary has been suspended from the witch hunt club as Dan thinks Gary may in fact be a witch himself and tries to prove he is.

The book jogs along nicely but seems to end in the middle of the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange but hypnotic, 19 Feb. 2014

not sure what i thought this book would be like.
Started slow and ended abruptly.

Gary, Milton and Dan are witch hunters. Carrie joints the trio and the story is all about a death curse that comes through the post for Milton.

Mayhem ensues.

Will certainly read series 2

The Saints Go Dying (Arthur Beautyman Mysteries Book 1)
The Saints Go Dying (Arthur Beautyman Mysteries Book 1)

4.0 out of 5 stars A cracking read, 3 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
very good structured crime thriller. Beautyman is a maverick cop with skills in computer hacking that allows him to bypass traditional policing methods to catch serial killers whilst dealing with the media and be fired from the force.

Would strongly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of the series

The War of the Worlds
The War of the Worlds

3.0 out of 5 stars Marred by the original film, 29 Dec. 2013

strange to think I had never read the book but always had the view that it was portrayed by the classic b movie. I did not like the revised film starring Tom Cruise but on reflection it has a stronger synergy to the book.

A classic still the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mental journey, 25 Nov. 2008
This review is from: Jim Giraffe (Paperback)
If you love wacky books with a plot going all over the place you will like this book.

Jim is a 'ghost' giraffe who lives in a cupboard whose apparent purpose is to be a 20th century 'ghost of christmas past, present and future' to a down on his luck science fiction buff.

laughs a plenty, not to be taken seriously.

Bizarre from start to finish. One of the best books I have ever read
