5.0 out of 5 stars Great product., 28 Mar. 2014

Great product and quick delivery. It isn't embossed \ stamped as Panasonic but the enclosed instructions clearly state this is because it's a Matshita product...so it's completely legit and excellent quality. Very sleek and slim and a worthwhile purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't kill me, but I preferred Finchers version!, 2 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had seen GWTDT Swedish version when it originally came out, but never the sequels. I had always preferred the Fincher version to be honest - which seems to be a crime amongst many - but I genuinely feel he nailed the suspense and tone better and that Rooney Mara gave a better interpretation of Salander. Sue me. I know that's not a popular view. I bought these to see if as a trilogy they better expanded the first one - but i found they got progressively more passive. They were very watchable, but I can only watch thme thinking what Fincher could have done with the whole series would have been better played.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets better all the time!, 2 May 2013

What can you say about Curb that has not been said already. This season has but a couple of low points, but the highs are genius! The Palestinan chicken episode alone is worth buying the season for. Beyond genius. best show ever made. Ever. Period.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the movie, loved the book!, 2 May 2013

This review is from: Sideways (Paperback)
This is different to the film in many ways. You should be aware of that! Some aspects are radically different! I had not read the book before the film but if you are the same and only sampled the movie, despite the film having made significant changes to Rex Pickett's original story, they are equally as good. Do buy this, and the follow up Vertcial.

5.0 out of 5 stars Concerned at a sequel - but this is a great follow up!, 2 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I loved the original Sideways film, so picked up the book, and this follow up. I was concerned about a follow up to Sideways, but what Rex Pickett has done with the characters is brilliant.

As said - skimpy on extras but DVD is limited now. But I bought it for the awesome film, not for extras.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stretches the conspiracy angle beyond breaking point., 21 April 2013
This review is from: Room 237 [DVD] (DVD)
If you are thinking about purchasing and viewing Room 237 on DVD....don't waste your money. Speaking as a filmmaker myself and having both a respect and love of many of Kubrick's works, I can say with confidence that Room 237 takes the conspiracy theories of The Shining to new, and ultimately laughable extremes. It seems to be the 'cool' thing to subscribe to the idea that the film holds multiple and massive conspiracies and layered hidden meanings. I would openly agree, from film study, that Kubrick did indeed meticulously research and organise and construct his films with subtext and meaning...all great filmmakers do....but the notions being expressed by the nut jobs who voice this film are beyond exciting possibilities and into the realms of someone seeking to fill their life with meaning where non exists for personal desperation.
One contributor discussing the amazing synchronicity between her work on these ideas and a story idea her son came up with are a waste of screen time. As is the whole section describing the remarkable happenings when the film is played forwards and backwards at the same time and super imposed over each other. A credit name, the car and some pictures on a wall all layering to show the main character being 'trapped' in time?? Please! The carpet pattern in a room representing intercourse? Give me a break! A cross dissolve between two pictures creating a Hitler moustache on Jack Nicholson?? Stretching dear filmmaker. Stretching.
The 'finale' of Room 237 left me with I see as a hidden meaning to itself. It is said by one of the contributors at the end that even if Kubrick did not intend these meanings to be hidden in The Shining, they are anyway, says it all. That a nutjib with a conspiracy theory will find it in whatever material is put before them.
Save your money and go guy a Kubrick film you maybe don't own already.
