5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomeness, 14 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: At Folsom Prison (Audio CD)
Just hearing the banter between Cash and the inmates who are whoopin' and a hollerin' is worth the price alone. Most of the songs are a blast. Would it happen now? Probably not.

While younger gamers might find its appeal a bit limited, its a beautiful game- in every sense of the word. It'll take you on a journey.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst Koontz I've read, and I've read a lot., 22 Feb. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Lightning (Paperback)
Page after page of filler. Not much happens for almost 200 pages. Worse than Brother Odd. If you are new to Koontz, read a different one. Try Odd Thomas, which I think is a cracking read. Life Expectancy was also more tense and a better story. Lightning is more like a mediocre idea that Koontz has padded out out with a bland character study of Laura Shane. By the end of the book I still felt as though I didn't really know Laura, and I certainly didn't care about the outcome. Bland. Disappointing. Should have trusted my instincts and put it down after 50 dull pages. Still, the other reviewers seem to like it. Who's right? You decide.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't expect too much, 29 Jan. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's cheap, it arrived on time. It works, but the range on mine is about 2m, which makes it useless for anything other than standing 2m away and pressing the button when the front of the camera is pointing at you. It doesn't work if the camera is pointing away from you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy the DVD, not the Blu-ray, 6 Jan. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great songs, great performance, great footage. The DVD would be sufficient to convey all this. As the footage is old, grainy and shot live in dark concert halls, it just doesn't gain anything from the blu-ray format. It doesn't take anything away either. It's still great. Just trying to save you a quid or two.

Teenage Wasteland: The Slasher Movie Uncut
Teenage Wasteland: The Slasher Movie Uncut

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it under the duvet with a torch!, 6 Nov. 2010
What a great book. Quality writing. Credible and authorative. I am a more general fan of the horror genre, (with a bit of a thing for zombie movies) and this book has made me realise that I need to simply watch a lot more slasher flicks. My dad (late 60's) picked it up today while round for a cuppa and basically didn't say a word for the rest of the visit, just sat there poring over the fabulous pages sporting the great scenes and posters from the genre. Also looks FREAKIN SWEET on the coffee table!!!! BUY IT!

wee people! the sense of satisfaction at guessing them is great. I loved looking for my favourite band, the Ramones. Some are really hard, others very obvious. Many are hilarious. The wife loves it too!!!

The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon)
The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon)
by Dan Brown
Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.99

2.0 out of 5 stars The Da Vinci Code- in Washington, but no where near as good, 11 Sept. 2010
Robert Langdon races from clue to clue, a beautiful woman, a quasi-religeous nutter, a conspiracy. Sound familiar? What is this book? A bumper book of Washington DC trivia? A re-hash of the Da Vinci Code?

Don't bother.

5.0 out of 5 stars His best sci fi, 9 Aug. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Excession (Paperback)
Some people say Consider Phlebas is the one to read. It is very good. However, Excession is something else. It's provides a wholly believable jump into another dimension. The whole ship talking to ship thing just had me utterly gripped. One of those books that you just gobble up. BIG ideas, superb technology, outstanding story. May not be suitable for Maeve Binchy fans.
