5.0 out of 5 stars Raced in cold conditions, didn't let me down., 19 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If what you're looking for is a well fitting pair of shorts to wear under running tights that won't chafe under pressure then these are great. Used them during a half marathon in freezing conditions (admittedly with a couple of dabs of vaseline on the endangered areas) and they worked fine. They're seamless and tight fitting so won't give you a blatant VPL but at the same time you won't be that bloke with the awkward 'runners acorn' either. Wicking was as good as could be expected whilst a quick blast of the hand dryer in the disabled loo's post race had them toasty and dry. If you're slightly in denial about your true waste size you might want to go a size up.

Just bought a second one. The dongle is tiny so sits unobtrusively in the USB port but can also be stashed inside the unit for transportation. Weight and size feel just right and accuracy is spot on. As an added bonus, Logitech use an easy-open packing system that means my initial fears about having to reach for the scissors and wrestling with with the vacuum plastic case were unfounded - a quick pull on the wrapper and it was ready to go, plugged in with no driver hassles. It's cheap but represents great value for money - my default choice now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Subtle as a brick but not in a bad way, 3 Jun. 2013
Really, solid, really heavy, pretty large watch that appears bombproof. Nobody really needs a watch these days, so really it's about getting a fashion accessory that looks good and probably plays to your sense of heritage / irony regarding Festina and its relationship with cycling. Got mine as a 40th present and for all of the above reasons it's great. I personally wouldn't wear it every day - it's a bit heavy for that and I'm not a watch person anyway. But as a semi-special occasion piece it's a great thing to own.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming, insightful bromance ready to be polished, 20 Mar. 2013

First off, although I've only given it a four star rating, it's only because I don't think the book is quite the finished product. It's self published and there are still some edges around content and story construction that would benefit from going through the mill of a professional publisher.

With that disclaimer out the way, here's what's great about it.

With the two lead protagonists, what we have are a pair of charming middle class slackers with an aptitude for blagging and an eye on the beautiful. Their quest to get from one end of Britain to the other relying purely on the generosity of strangers is both heartwarming and insightful. In an age of cynicism this book puts to rest two of the most common misapprehensions that the average Brit has about their country:

1) That its people only care about themselves

and

2) That going almost anywhere else is better than taking the time to appreciate your own country.

The book is charming, warm and witty. It's an easy read, won't take long and will leave you feeling better about being British. Hopefully it will also get you off your backside and out to visit the amazing places the UK has to offer. If there's any justice in the world then Channel 4 will have bought the film rights by now and a professional publisher will have got in touch to remove some of the rough edges and give the book the promotion it deserves. Great trip fellas, good book George.

Lighter than a Lenovo original, saved me a packet and speedy delivery. Just as robust. Very pleased. If your cable has suffered from dangling the power block from it and is now a threat to life and limb this is the product you need!

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good but flimsy, 15 Jan. 2013

If you're looking for something to plug in to your hifi and forget about then bingo - you've found a really great way to stream sound from a bluetooth device. Quality is absolutely fine - I'm not an audiophile and neither are 99% of music listeners so let's not get hung up on perfection. It's easy to connect and, once connected continues to pick up my iphone / ipad so long as the device is charged. The reason I've not given it a five star review is simply that the wire connecting the jack plug to the device is very, very delicate. I bought the device to go with a set of travel speakers and have concerns about slinging this little thing around. If you're looking to buy this for the car / travel etc I'd maybe recommend spending an extra tenner and buying a slightly more robust alternative. Ditto if you expect it to be stuffed down the back of the stereo in a place where you might need to be less than delicate when it comes to pulling the plug out (or buy an extension cable). If you're going to be using it at home in an easily accessible place to plug in and out between charges then fill your boots - it'll be just what you're after.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4* durability, 5* results, 28 Dec. 2012

Bit of a funny one - if all you do is slavishly follow the scant instructions and don't invoke common sense you might struggle with milk spraying out the top and unsatisfactory results. Spend some time playing with it (preferably with a dishcloth beneath as you work out how vigorously to froth) and you can get great results. The tips about putting the milk in the microwave post-frothing are good, although once again use common sense - watch it closely the first time and the second you see it starting to rise stop and remember the timings for next use. The only thing I'll fault it on is durability. It's a fragile device, possibly needlessly so. It's not the sort of thing you leave upside down on the draining board for long unless you want to risk it toppling and breaking; the glass is very thin. Other than that, a great tool that complements my Nespresso machine. Love it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good...ish, 10 Dec. 2012
Acquired these at a heavy discount - the Lance brand hadn't had a good year and Comet was closing down. The £35 I paid for them was a fair price. I only got them because I thought I'd lost my Sure SE 315's. These are OK - they sit comfortably in the ear and produce a good enough sound to set them aside as a premium product. They're not a patch on the Sure's though. Bass is good and music is well defined. The fit is OK although I'd worry that with the swivelling ear piece the durability is going to be lacking - that certainly seems the case from other reviews I've read. I'm certainly not throwing away the proof of purchase.

Not sure what the fuss is about them being washable- the biggest concern with this type of headphone is trying to remove was build up without damaging the inner workings. But if you worry that you're going to get caught in a downpour or you've intensely sweaty ears that other headphones might not survive (not something that I've ever worried about) then maybe these are for you. If not? Sure all the way for me.

Bought these because I've got big hands and want to be able to work on my bike and pull a few weeds out the back yard without finding getting any surprises from the neighbour's cats transferred from the gravel to my finger nails. These work perfectly.

2.0 out of 5 stars I just paid money for that?, 18 May 2012
Although allegedly comprising 285 pages, this eBook typically has one paragraph on each page and reads like it was knocked up off the top of the Author's head on a quiet night in. It's basically a series of report writing tips. If you're looking for information on how to structure a report, what a decent index / appendix / footnote system looks like, examples of good practise or indeed anything else other than a few statements of the obvious then look elsewhere. I don't care if it was 99p, it was a waste of money. 10 minutes of googling will find you much more useful material.
