5.0 out of 5 stars A superb book, 23 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One of the best academic books I have ever read, and certainly the most enjoyable and consistently impressive work of history I have read. The style is elegant and exact, the argument is constructed with great lucidity from a wealth of research, and the perspective manages to appear admirably objective and sane, but also progressive and on behalf of happiness.

1.0 out of 5 stars How much does it weigh?, 19 July 2012
Having searched for lightweight suitcases, I would have been really interested to know how much this one weighs, but this crucial information, far more crucial than the spiel provided in the "product description", is just not there. So I won't be buying it.

4.0 out of 5 stars oxford concise dictionary, 30 Oct. 2008

An excellent dictionary, as one would expect. Just deeply irritating that it comes with a sticky blob, attaching a fairly useless booklet to the dust jacket. It is impossible to entirely remove the sticky blob from the dust jacket, though it comes off the fairly useless booklet very well. Rather than have goo on hands and other books have had to ditch the dust jacket, reducing life of dictionary. Sack someone in marketing.
