5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and not too frank in my opinion!, 14 July 2010
This review is from: More And More Rabbits (Paperback)
This book is amongst the best of my all time favourites for reading to my children. It is funny on both a child and an adult level and does not destroy the innocence of childhood at all! We have a large and happy family and I would not hesitate to read this to any of them. A cleverly written book that does not lie to children but is not explicit either. I think its spot on.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Clever Marketing Ploy?, 5 Feb 2010
This book is beautifully written and illustrated and worth every penny. My sole complaint is that the materials that it recommends eg ribbons, cottons are all the authors own brand. These are not widely available and if you purchase all the items that are recommended each picture costs in excess of £60 before you even thread a needle. If you are more adventurous and just want to adapt the techniques to the materials that you have available then this book is perfect.

LEGO City Model 7738 Coast Guard Helicopter & Life Raft
LEGO City Model 7738 Coast Guard Helicopter & Life Raft

5.0 out of 5 stars As expected another excellent product, 6 Nov 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Lego fulfills all expectations again. My little boy has saved up forever to buy this (well at 50p each week it must have felt like forever)and he was not disappointed. It took him a half day to put it all together but has not really put it down since. He is a bright spark of a 5 year old and I would recommend this for 5 onwards. There are other smaller sets that I think are better value for money but apart from that a great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jam packed with detail, 25 May 2007
Although I can't afford to buy this book I did borrow it continually from the library! It has a wealth of information on the alteration of corsets to fit each body shape and basic blocks. The historical emphasis is detailed and useful and although I am only an amateur I learned a great deal from this. This book would be especially useful for fashion design students but don't expect it to hold your hand on the design aspects as it won't deliver. All in all the professionals choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars A tiny showstopper!, 25 May 2007
This book is a bit of a shock really. It is a tiny notebook but what an amazing resource. It contains a lot of information on how to construct a corset from the grid patterns printed, although it does assume basic dressmaking skills. If you don't know how to apply bias tape for example you would struggle. It does not detail things like cording and flossing but the price is reasonable and you really can't go far wrong with this as a starter providing your dressmaking skills are reasonable.

5.0 out of 5 stars The kids love it, 23 April 2007
This review is from: Peppa Pig: Noisy Day (Board book)
This book is a firm favourite in our house. It has a chuncky board cover and a button to press to get an oink oink noise. My little ones could interact with the book before they could talk and it always held their interest taking it in turns to make the oink oink noise at the appropriate time in the text. I think this is particularly good for little ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars They never tire of this. Indestructable!, 23 April 2007
A fabulous chunky book with clear pictures and simple sentences with words kids recognise like Mummy, Daddy and silly. There are lift up flaps and of course like all Peppa pig books a great story based on the cartoons. My 18 month old can ask for this one by name so it must be good mustn't it?
