Edition: Paperback
Price: 6.29

5.0 out of 5 stars A thoroughly enjoyable and informative read, 6 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Lives of Ants (Paperback)
It is remarkably well written and the author really does get his enthusiasm across! The sections of the book are clear and nicely set out. There is lots of information about the different species of ants. I now look at ants with interest and admiration. There is minimal scientific terminology and so this book is perfectly suited to anyone with an interest in the lives of ants.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious recipes, 5 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this for a friend who is travelling to Chile for a couple of months. When this book arrived i just thought i'd have a quick look though and before i knew, i'd spent at least half an hour reading recipes, about the history of the recipes..(just so you know, i don't usually do this with a cook book) I really wanted to just keep the book for myself, but resisted. After receiving this book, my friend has so far made 3 of the recipes for me, all of which have been delicious!

5.0 out of 5 stars A thoroughly enjoyable and informative read, 5 Jun 2013

I found it to be really interesting and informative. This book is full of examples, right from the early records of mutations resulting in changes in the physical appearance of humans. it was also interesting to hear about how the public and scientists responded to these occurrences and how we now have a better understanding of why different types of human mutations occur.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent family game, 5 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: English Quest (Toy)
A thoroughly enjoyable game which really tests and improves your general knowledge. All of the cards are multiple choice so you can play this game even if you're general knowledge isn't all that good.. yet.. A good range of questions, from really easy to impossibly difficult. With some amusing jester cards. A good family game.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best card games i've ever played, 5 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Dominion: Intrigue (Toy)
If you enjoyed playing Dominion this is the next game to buy as it makes the original much more interesting and exciting. Saying that, this can also be an exciting game just on its own. The cards in this game are a little more complex than the cards in the original, so if you have not played the original it may take a few games to really get into it. But, once you've started playing, you'll never want to stop.. 'just one more game..'

5.0 out of 5 stars A thoroughly enjoyable and informative read, 16 May 2012
This 70 page book is a delightful little read. It is remarkably well written and the author really does get his enthusiasm across - once i'd started reading, i didn't stop! The sections of the book are clear and nicely set out. There is a surprising amount of information for just 70 pages. I now look at bumblebees with interest and admiration. There is minimal scientific terminology and so this book is perfectly suited to anyone with an interest in bumblebees. Also, the descriptions given at the end of the book could not in themselves be used for accurate identification of bumblebees in the wild. However, if you wanted to be able to identify bumblebees in the wild, the Bumblebee Conservation website gives a useful guide of the 6 most common species.
