5.0 out of 5 stars Best album of all time, 29 Sept. 2009
This review is from: Hejira (Audio CD)
Not much to say than what the others have said this is a great album i first had this on vinyl and it is still a album i come back to.i love all sorts of music but this my favourite album from any artist of all time. Every track is brilliant with thinking lyrics and great playing. Joni Mitchell's 70s output is unmatched i would reccomend Blue, Court and Spark, The Hissing of Summer Lawns aswell as this . Simply one of the greatest ,artists of all time. On one final note i have just bought all the remastered versions of this and all the other mentioned albums from CD Universe in America you cant get them here well worth pursuing as the sound is far superior to the originals.

Not much to add to others really i bought this when it first came out at the age of 25 yes i am getting old.I loved it then and still do. I think its his best album i have some of the others but this is my favourite.A bit of a warning i have just updated to the remaster version i dont think it adds much to the original CD and you can hear hissing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish the modern day Status Quo, 2 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Dig out Your Soul (Audio CD)
Well where do i start the most boring band ever. They made 2 okay albums the first 2 and since then have put out the same record ever since. Their fans constantly keeping buying this rubbish and get upset if you make any negative comment about them. Time in 15 years will not be kind to this lot when it will be looked on as very dated indeed. They were never has good as Blur as their stuff as stood the test of time a lot better. Don't buy this all any of the other rubbish this band have put out over the last 10 years.

I loved Man as a youth in the 70s and i had this on Vinyl then and unfortunately for me i loved the album so much i bought it on CD last year before it was remastered. Putting that aside this as always been my favourite Man album i love all the tracks they never really made it big but always had a cult following and they were a great live band. Just buy it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Over rated, 27 July 2009
This review is from: Lungs (Audio CD)
Bought this based on rave reviews both on here and in the press.
What a mistake if this is the future of music god help us. Its very poor not a patch on PJ Harvey or Tori Amos's early stuff who she is suppose to be influenced by. Save your money i put this back on Amazon as soon as i got it and some kind soul thankfully took it off me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Like a poor U2 Album, 13 Jun. 2009

First of all i used to like the band i feel the first 2 albums were great and still do. However, the rot set in with the last album and with this one they have completely lost the polt. If you are new to the band and you like this i would stay clear of the first 2 albums as this sounds nothing like it. This sounds like U2 on a bad day and is very bland they have gone for a wider audience with this and as a result we get soft rock middle of the road songs. I cannot understand the 5 star ratings for this a once great band gone to the dogs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, 23 April 2009
Dont get me wrong i love James Taylor went to see him in Wolverhampton last year thank god he never played any of this rubbish this is one of the worst albums i have ever heard. It is a covers album and he has killed nearly every song with the Lenoard Cohen track Suzzane the worst of the lot. Give this a big miss and explore some of his other albums lets hope he can still inspire himself to write his own songs in the future, this album is plain lazy.

Huge fan of Colin Blunstone first got into him in the 70s with One Year and then for almost 20 years forgot about him until i looked again for him on Amazon. I am really glad i did as this album is excellent. First heard some of these tracks in February at the Robin in Bilston when i saw Colin live (he is excellent live). On to the album i agree with the others there is not a duff track on this album and Colin wrote half the album himself, the voice is still intact and the tracks are lovely especially Second Avenue. If you like this then get One Year as you will love it which as Colins version of Say You Dont Mind on. One of the best singers the UK as ever produced and the most underrated. Just Buy IT.

I agree with most other reviews on this album i remember buying the LP in the seventies and was knocked out by it then and i have now bought it on cd and still play it now. This album was more of a guitar album than the rest of the bands output which came later. Bill is a fine guitar player and it really shows on this album. This was a great first album from a great band but this album never really sold that well it wasnt until Sunburst finish that they really took off.I would recommend all their 70s output as they were all great and i have them all on CD now. Despite some success i always thought they were underrated if i was to only have 2 of their albums i would get this and Sunburst Finish.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dated, 25 July 2008
This review is from: THE NEWZ (Audio CD)
I was a big Nazareth fan in my youth having bought all their 70s albums in their heyday and bought them again on Cd recently. Based on the wonderful reviews of this album i bought it i wish i hadn't there is nothing on hear which compares to Hair of the dog and Rampant and it all sounds very dated. To me Nazereth never made a good album after Rampant if you are new to the music of the band check out the first 4 albums first. I see them live when i can but only for the old tracks.
