3.0 out of 5 stars Not as interesting as Area 51 rumours!, 23 Feb 2008
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Blacksite is at best a mediocre last gen game.
A bit harsh but I will explain,
firstly the story isnt as good as 90% of the other games outr there, the graphics are dubious at worst and patchy at best (please note I dont really buy into graphics would rather a solid game but still even I appreciate eyecandy). The game mechanics are seriously out of kilter for a laugh I crawled out of cover to snipe a machine gun post and not only did take two headshots to kill the guy but I was getting shot up big style and still didnt die!

Not a bad game but rent it before you even think of buying it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wasnt as good as the hype!, 23 Feb 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This was my first console meeting with the Halo Franchise I got the Limited (Tin) version first then this one and sold of the other version!

The legendary Edition is worth the money as the spartan helmet looks great oh and there is a third DVD to but the Helmet is the real reason to get this!

With all the hype that surrounded the release of this game I was expecting to enjoy this game but didn't, there wasnt anything bad about the game I just thought it lacked something Dynamic in the single player.

The Multiplayer is a good laugh as long as you dont play when all the school kids are on as they can be a bit excitable on Halo.

Now for the great bit, the biggest enjoyment I have had with this game is having a mate over and playing co-op over LAN this is great fun and the reason to get the game! Still a challenge on Legendary and a bit tricky at times on heroic, dont bother with normal as for co-op it is way to easy to even describe!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Account of action Yet, 23 Feb 2008
This review is from: 3 Para (Hardcover)
This book follows 3 Para battlegroup after they deploy to the Helmand Province in Southern Afghanistan, through first hand accounts the time they spent there is brutally retold with almost no punches pulled!

A must for anyone interested in the forces or those who want to serve, or even those who dont. The true nature of British armed forces today shines through wonderfully and is fully deserving of a five star rating, if only due to the attempt to bring the battlefield home to those who only saw it through the media.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lights Camera Fun, 1 Dec 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game based on the popular board game of the same name brings to the 360 something that is original instantly accessible and will be loved by all.
The package comes with 4 big button controllers that make the game all the more fun as there is less chance of hitting the wrong button.
As you play the game you get points for correct answers (or guesses)
A game that can be enjoyed by hard-core gamers and casual gamers as well as all ages of people!
A slight concern is that with the question tracking when the last question is asked it goes back to the start, hopefully new questions and game modes will be introduced over live so hopefully there will be the same variety as the board game!

A brilliant game that cant be recommended enough

4.0 out of 5 stars A good Flight game for a good carrier, 30 Nov 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Ok I have never liked flight sims but the demo on live got me hooked!
This game has a feel that is probably best described as half real half arcade, the game is gorgeous to look at except the cut scenes which to be honest feel kind of dated but who cares when you get flying! A good basic config of buttons that make sense when getting in the heat of airial combat and dog fighting at close range.
Fun multi player maps that could do with a few more people on it but thats by the by. customisable load outs and colour new planes purchaseable on live!
Most reviews I read about this game slated it for the length of the missions and the lack of save options, I didnt find this a problem when you die mid mission you go back to the last objective you completed ( after the second mission all the missions i have played have three objectives).
A solid game with wonderful gameplay and a lot of juice left in the tank!

5.0 out of 5 stars Who needs a expensive TV?, 30 Nov 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Brought this to use the xbox on my 22inch widescreen Iyama pc monitor.
Firstly some brands come with the jack to put the left and right audio into one channel.
Secondly buy this!
The quality of the visual over a pc monitor hands down is more impressive than running it on a normal tv through the component or scart! Yes i have tried it two elites running next to each other one to my monitor and one to a 36 inch w/screen tv and there is a noticable difference! If the monitor comes with speakers I would recommend and external sound solution as most onboard speakers arent great but the cable does not distort the audio or visual signals either way and also on this cable is the option of plugging in a optical cable for even better sound!
Buy this a half decent pc monitor and an xbox and it probably comes to the same amount as a decent HD tv!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chatting made comfortable, 30 Nov 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This wireless earpiece is a must have bit of kit (in any colour) firstly the sound quality is great secondly the mic is good quality though if you are playing against people from the far reaches of the world its occasionally a bit crackly)
The box comes with two sizes of loops that are interchangable so you can get a comfortable fit. The design is great and just tap the on/off switch and it mutes your mic. All vioce comms come over the headset whilst the sound still comes out of your audio system so aids the clarity of the design!
What more can I say a nice comfortable bit of kit

5.0 out of 5 stars Microsoft doing something right?, 30 Nov 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Firstly I was very sceptical about this product! Why I always have been a sony fan (phones consoles tvs, portables etc etc)
After listening to a work collegue bang on about his 360 for ages and the fact that I wanted a next gen console for a while i took the plunge and got the elite!
Is the elite worth it!
If you have a 360 probably not if you havnt then 50 extra for an extra 100GB of storage is definitely worth it and it looks much nicer than the cream version. The games are top notch Live is a well thought out product and everything, well it just seems right the controller (wireless) fits perfectly in the hands (one reason i hated the original xBox was the controller)

1.0 out of 5 stars Havent got a clue about the game and here is why, 6 Oct 2007
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Halo 2 (PC DVD) (Video Game)
Brought the game new from the shop got home and tried to play!
Error messages galour come from this game. Despite numerous phone calls to Microsoft, my ISP and the router manufacturers I still have not been able to do anything on this game, if I dont update the game I can play the solo missions but with no stat tracking or any of the benifits of being on live if I update the game and Live then I cant log in!
Over ten hours on the phone over two days to try and get this to work but still not going and a week later I am still waiting for microsoft to call me back! It probably would have been cheaper for me to buy a 360 and Halo 3 compared to the cost of phone calls!

OK so after a month of phone calls to Microsoft and some great help from their tech guys got this game working wasnt overly impressed by the game as the multi player is so slow when compared to almost every other game!

5.0 out of 5 stars A game to upgrade for, 18 Sep 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Bioshock (PC DVD) (Video Game)
HL2 was good but it followed HL
Stalker was great even though still havent completed it
Bioshock takes all that is good from FPS adds some innovated customisations cranks up the visual and the audio, makes one of my work mates jump out of his skin and you have a brilliant game worthy at the moment of Game of the Year.
Not quite as much tension I thought as Doom III but this a game that I will continue to play at the moment I am going to save the Little Sisters, next time they wont be so lucky!
For someone who has played any FPS I would recommend skipping entirely the easy level, I am going through on the medium difficulty and having no problems although the eve is sometimes tight!
This game is different and thankfully arrived on the same day as my 8800 graphics card! There is a God !
