5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Ferris Fare, 15 Jun 2014

This review is from: MONEY TREE (Kindle Edition)
Gordon Ferris has built a loyal following with his post second world war thrillers set in Glasgow and London, so a modern day techno thriller ranging from New York to the Indian Sub Continent is likely to make some of those readers pause before purchasing. What Ferris achieves with this book is to demonstrate that it is his storytelling that makes his books so popular and although the locations and genre are wildly different to his previous work, Money Tree provides a well paced thriller that manages to prick the readers' social conscience along the way. Making bankers appear to be unpopular in this post credit crunch world is a no-brainer; making a small subset of that profession appear like saints takes skill. The Money Tree is a good, fast paced read and hints at a more diverse range of stories from Gordon to come. Strongly recommended.

Andrew has a knack of presenting British history in a light way that helps you to grasp the political and cultural changes easily. Worth reading, as is his other history of post WWII Britain

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read, 4 Jun 2014

Pete has done a creditable job of outlining the history of twenty or so SAS soldiers, many of whom he has personally served with, in a clear way. He is careful to demystify the belief that the SAS soldiers are supermen and you close the book realising that they are just very good soldiers who are consummate professionals.

Don't expect ant real depth but the blurb is correct when it states it will give an overview. Probably more use as a springboard for further study on the pieces that catch your eye

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Standard, 16 Feb 2014

I teach static and dynamics and needed a new calculator. The price difference between this and the model below it is trivial and this has the potential to help with calculus problems, although I haven't had a need to look at that yet. If you are involved in post GCDE maths studies then this is a suitable tool

I bought this because I was struggling to find a sensibly priced cover for the Sensie without having to pay postage from the US. The Sensei literally fits like a glove
