5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and Susan Ericksen if perfect., 30 Jan 2014
Started with book 1: Naked in Death. Wasn't impressed and found the futuristic setting and references, inconsequential and annoying. Kept going and have become totally hooked. Now on Visions in Death and absolutely love it. As the series progresses, more characters are brought in and all become "fleshed out" with their own believable idiosyncrasies and the affect on the main character Dallas, of finding herself with a fabulous husband and friendships; how that makes herself feel, is genuinely touching. All that and a gripping crime story! I have had the series as audio books and Susan Ericksen is sublime. Each character is read in their own personal way, which adds layers, substance and makes them seem real people. Haven't felt this way about an audio reading since Stephen Fry and the Harry Potter series!

1.0 out of 5 stars Better than Nytol, 27 Jun 2013
I have a constant diet of crime fiction ranging from Dick Francis to Karin Slaughter and all in between. This book is the most tedious and annoying I have wasted my time reading in a long, long time. The plot is non-existent, tension level nil, writing style irritating. My most memorable part of the book, which is written in the first person, is where Alex has had some tussle or another, is presumably a bit bedraggled and she says "I looked down at my slender fingers". I ask you, who on earth would say such a thing! Not sure if the author is trying for mild erotica, romance or what one would expect: crime fiction. She has managed to miss the mark on all counts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little light, 3 Oct 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First light faulty & didn't charge, but seller did replace after I'd returned the defective one. Had this light for a couple of months now & easy to charge using the kindle charger lead, charge lasts some while and it lights the whole screen evenly. I found the arm stopped opening automatically when lifted pretty quickly, but not too bothered about that as long as the light itself comes on, which it does.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does what is says although with a huge BUT............., 9 July 2012
I've had this light for around 3 months: it weighs virtually nothing, fits snugly without impeding the cover either open or folded back, the arm can be moved to whatever position suits the reader and the illumination is perfect. So why only 2 stars? As others have noted, to change the battery is very difficult and many a broken nail later, I use a blunt knife. Even that though wouldn't warrant such a low score when weighed against its assets. Its the battery life...I am replacing the AAA battery around once or even twice a week which is unacceptable. Perhaps I read too much in too poor a light, but the average is perhaps an hour/two hours a day, which is hardly excessive. I have made sure when putting down for the night that the light has not/cannot inadvertently be switched on by the "touch" control & am confident this is not the case. I can only assume the AAA battery is not up to the job. This is a great pity as its not just the cost, its settling down for the night with a good book and then the battery goes flat & there's not another one to be found in the house! I have reluctantly decided it will have to be to replaced and whatever I buy as the replacement, will NOT be powered by a AAA battery.

Rubbish! No sliced bread seems to fit. Cheese pours out while bread is still soggy. Leave it long enough and you may get a slightly better result on the bread but with no filling, just a mass of congealing cheese which has run out of the back of the unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any manager or aspiring manager, 10 Jun 2010
This book is invaluable for those who want to avoid the usual disastrous management pitfalls; ever heard of 'flog a good horse to death'? This is just one example of how this book will help you to understand the do's and dont's of good management, whether a manager now or hoping to be in the future. An absolute must!
