5.0 out of 5 stars A superb read - highly recommended. Just don't lend him your fridge...., 13 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a well written and exciting book. In it "Big Phil" describes his adventures across the world including Gaza, Afghanistan, Iraq, Abu Dhabi (looking after £50 million worth of diamonds) and defending ships from marauding Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean in enthralling detail. Thankfully - despite several close shaves - he has lived to tell the tale and his book makes a gripping read. I had the privilege to meet the author when I participated in the special forces inspired "Fan Dance" event (15 miles traveling up and down Pen Y Fan mountain twice carrying a 35lb bergen) and he is true gentleman and a real character. However if he asks to borrow your fridge you might want to think twice... to find out about Phil's fridge throwing antics you will need to read his very good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing change, 1 Jan. 2014
Amongst the countless so called gurus who promise to reveal the secrets of making money on-line, it makes a refreshing change to finally discover the facts about what really makes the difference between commercial success and commercial failure. Good to see a book that is based upon research into what the very best on-line retailers actually do to make their websites so successful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing but trouble - don't buy a Tom Tom, 26 Jan. 2013
I have had nothing but problem after problem - frequently won't update when connected to Tom Tom site, had to be sent back and replaced as a Tom Tom software upgrade seemed to render it inoperable, sometimes it will power up sometimes it won't. Just buy something else! It's almost totally useless.

5.0 out of 5 stars A film with depth and impact, 25 May 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Clubbed [2009] [DVD] (DVD)
If you are looking for a shallow gratuitious "gangster" flick then 'Clubbed' isn't for you. The film's script has depth and intelligence to it, and charts the main character's journey from desperate divorced Father and factory worker to night club doorman. Be warned - some of the violence is gruesome and shocking. With a great 80s atmosphere (and soundtrack) this is my favoutite film of the year. Watch out for cameo appearances from writer Geoff Thompson who has used his personal real life experiences to bring a powerful authenticity to this film. Vastly superior to the usual shallow "gangster" offering.

5.0 out of 5 stars A leadership book with a real difference, 5 Dec. 2008
Amongst the host of leadership books available on the market it was a real discovery to come across this gem. The author skillfully weaves many powerful leadership lessons into an entertaining and engaging story.
You will find yourself hooked by the story (I couldn't put it down!) and benefitting from the insightful leadership lessons. The book also includes a highly useful "toolkit" at the end and you get the added bonus of being able to download some very useful additional resources too (these are now downloaded to my laptop for frequent reference - download details are contained in the book). All in all a must read for those in business.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book - even if I am biased!, 17 Oct. 2008
Let me declare my bias! I have met both of the authors and seen them speaking at events. That being said, they are both passionate advocates of providing great customer service and the stories within this book are a great way to learn about the subject. These guys know their stuff and whilst I may be bias - buy this book!
