5.0 out of 5 stars HORROR turned COMEDY - Just BRILLIANT . . ., 25 July 2014
This review is from: Drag Me to Hell (DVD)
Had watched most of this a while ago and didn't have chance to watch the end. Well now I have, not sure whether I liked it or not??? No it was very good, you took the horror and the comedy and made a brilliant film better than the norm horror and the norm comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed this strange movie. Alison Lohman who stared in it was great dont recognise her name from anywhere but i think I've seen her in films before. She plays a loan officer in a bank and ends up with a supernatural curse put on her by the ugliest looking woman I have ever seen, she was gross, yuk gross!!! Will she survive this curse its up to you to watch it and find out!!! Good luck and enjoy x x x

3.0 out of 5 stars It was OK to pass time . . ., 13 July 2014
This review is from: The Caller (Blu-ray)
This film caught my eye because Stephen Moyer was starring in it. This movie started off really well, chilling, moody, making you wonder. Then What!!! It just spiraled into nowhere. It was very disappointing, afraid I won't be buying this for the collection. Sorry x x x

5.0 out of 5 stars DEEPLY MOVING AND A VERY STRONG CAST . . ., 11 July 2014
This review is from: Dolores Claiborne (DVD)
This film caught my eye because Jennifer Jason Leigh was in and I love her in many films and I was not disappointed. On and even more of a plus sign the great Kathy Bates was in it as Dolores Claiborne a woman accused of killing her employer, a hard sometimes vicious woman Vera (Judy Parfitt.). With the police (Christopher Plummer) .The movie adapted from Stephen Kings book, was amazingly moving and could it could have almost been written with Kathy in mind. Jennifer stars as Selena her estranged daughter as she comes to her mothers side. Flash backs of when they were a young family to the present. Overall I give it 5 stars - fabulous . x x x

This review is from: The Reaping (DVD)
This film is one of my favourites, I have watched it multiple times and always thoroughly enjoyed it. It's classed as horror thriller and its a very stylish/exciting film. It's based on the bibles ten plagues and as throughout the film it is all about them. Hilary Swank plays a woman who has lost her faith as her family is destroyed, and turns to science and proving mutliple times that there is always a scientific reason for many "miracles" that happen. She gets a call to try and figure out what has happened in the small town of "Haven" where the river has turned red and a small 12 year old girl (played amazingly well by AnnaSophia Robb) is involved.

Brilliant definitely one to watch - prepare for the worst . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars GENIUS . . ., 8 July 2014
This review is from: Alice in Wonderland (Blu-ray)
Absolute and utter brilliance, every time I watch this movie I never lesser like of it but like of it more. Do you know what I mean??? If I could choose a movie for the amazing costume, camera takes, all those starred in it, well of course Johnny Depp, but honestly this is unbelievable guilty pleasure. Helena Bonham Carter as the queen with the Big Head (or hadn;t you noticed) was at her absolute best. Mia Wasoski as the confused Alice course if it hadn't have been for that pesky rabbit, i wouldn't be here right now typing this review. All those costumes it must have been an absolute ball filming this movie and every dressmakers nightmare or not? - is this my favourite animated movie - let me think??? x x x

3.0 out of 5 stars What would you do ???, 2 July 2014
This review is from: Ravenous (DVD)
Wasn't sure what the film was about before I watched it, and I usually have to read the back of the dvd to get an outline of the movie I'm going to watch.

I love Guy Pearce who stars as the beaten down, cowardly soldier Captain John Boyd. And Robert Carlyle stars as the mysterious, dark stranger, who tells his tale of being trapped in a cave and dying of starvati0n and the only way to survive was to kill each other.

Its a tense and suspenseful movie about cannibalism, but don't worry it's not a total gore fest (well just a bit). Overall not bad, but only the once . . . x x x

4.0 out of 5 stars THE SCOTTISH IN L.A. . . ., 9 Jun 2014
This review is from: L.A. Without a Map (DVD)
I only found this movie as I was sorting out my Johnny Depp Collection and he is in this movie but only as a cameo, and still as hot as ever. But this movie was a double bonus because not only Johnny but the wonderful David Tennant stars as Richard in this film. This is a light hearted adventure of one man sick of being nothing but an undertaker, when he meets Barbara (Vinessa Shaw) who is supposed to be flying home that afternoon back to LA. But, Richard talks her into staying for a while longer. They have a load of fun travelling by bike and in the wonderful British weather of rain!!! Barbara has gone back to LA and the heartbroken Richard decides to follow her. They get married and enjoy until her forever annoying ex keeps popping up on the scene. She leaves Richard to the ex and he goes back home. What happens next is up to you to watch to find out. This is a lovely movie and I recommend that it is worth the watch. . . x x x

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT ENTERTAINMENT . . ., 6 Jun 2014
This review is from: Toy Story 3 (Blu-ray)
I have watched the first two Toy Story's and thoroughly enjoyed them, but for some reason I never quite made it to watch the third. What a shame, this was absolutely brilliant and wished I'd watched it sooner. This is by far the most exciting and entertaining movie of them all, and covers a wide range of subjects. The old characters are in here and exciting new toys to join them. This movie is a definite number one out of all three, watch and be absorbed and taken on such a whirlwind adventure of fun and even a odd time to cry (can you believe it I did). This movie has to be on your top ten list . . .

The Machinist

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF ALL TIME . . ., 19 May 2014
This review is from: The Machinist (Blu-ray)
This is one of the best films that I have ever seen. This is a dark and mysterious film and Christian Bale as an actor absolutely fabulous, he lost so much weight around 63 pounds for this film and looked dangerously thin. If you like dark mysterious and thought provoking psychological thriller then look no further. Trevor Reznik is a machinist working all hours, he has a relationship with two women, one a prostitute (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and the other a cafe waitress (Aitnana Sanchez-Gijon) these two women seem to be the only place that Trevor can open up and keep a lid on his fragile paranoia. Little stick it notes start appearing threatening Trevor, he spirals out of control and he wonders if the two women are real and he loses all concept of reality. This is an amazingly gripping film and it is thoroughly gripping. Ten out of ten especially Christian Bale x x x

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Fun . . ., 17 May 2014
This review is from: The World's End (Blu-ray)
I'll never tire of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. All I can say is Gary thinks we should keep up with the crawl. Because they know what we're doing, but they don't know that we know what they're doing - Basically no-one else has a better idea so $8ck it. Brilliant line in the film from Nick Frost. x x x
