The Cult are back, and back with a blast. The Cult always seem to be in many places at once, hard rock, goth, psyche, something else of their own, always interesting often brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best I found, 23 May 2012
Having tried many other 'natural' deodorants, this has been the best I found. The stick version mind, not the roll on.Many others I found to not work at all,or worse to not work and making you feel like slime monsters are living under your armpits.Toms stick deo is my favourite so far,it does work all day for me.

I heard of Tarot via Nightwish. The link being that Marco Heitala is both bassist and vocalist of Tarot since the early 80's and of Nightwish since 2002.The thing about Marco is that he has a great, great voice,in the Halford/Judas Priest ballpark.Although the music has echoes of Iron Maiden, this album came out in 1986 after all,it somehow much more compact and to the point than Maiden.Good songs are here in abundance.Somehow this album still sounds fresh and now I want to get all of their nine albums but I only have three so far,all great. They had a new album 2010 and a re-recording of this album itself in 2011,which could be interesting.Unfortunately most of their older albums are all in the 'unafordable' bracket at the moment.

I used to see pictures and read interviews with Hanoi back in the days of Sounds music paper in the 80's.I always thought they had a good look and Michael Monroe had the hair I always wanted.Maybe they are a good band I thought but I didn't know anyone who had any of their stuff and went back to my post-punk,electro-pop and goth records.Somehow, shamefully,it has taken me until now to get a Hanoi album! Finally I know for sure they are a great band and this is a brilliant place to start with tracks of their first four albums from 1981-83 and a couple of earlier 1980 tracks.

I got this album on the strength of the song 'secret agents of lust',and I would be happy to have paid just for that song alone. It's a great album full of good fun pop/rock,almost fitting the old power pop term.Think of a Cheap Trick/Hanoi Rocks cross.Great melodies and songs.

It really is an impressive feat for a young band to make such a authentic sounding album, this being a Leppard/Crue/Poison mash up.Having said that maybe it does have a more snappy urgency to it than some of their influences, but either way it somehow doesn't sound like tired nostalgia or karaoke,it sounds fresh and exciting.Hearing the track 'Romance' is like hearing a lost Def Lepp track from 1987!

A collaboration between KMFDM,and Tim Skold who was a member of KMFDM previously and more famously was in the Marilyn Manson band. This album is as you probably would expect it to be.Hard beats with more electronics than guitars but no worse off for it.Some memorable songs are here, probably a good buy for fans of KMFDM or Manson/Skold.

Cauldron are kind of like a mix of 80's Judas Priest with a bit of Ratt thrown in there for good measure, something very melodic. The first few tracks are five star, great, but overall it didn't seem to work as well as an album for me,but the good tracks are brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant selection, 8 April 2012

Anathema are a great band and here you get three excellent albums from them.Their earlier works are doom metal inspired but these three are modern prog as it gets called now.Don't worry you won't find any emerson lake and palmer here,in case prog still brings visions of that eara to mind.At times they even go into coldplay territory, assuming coldplay were a great rock band that is!Their earlier doom albums are excellent as well by the way.

Between Alice in Chains and Jane's Addiction the Nymphs were to be found.Great songs to soundtrack this tragic yet great universe. The perfect soundtrack to early 90's Los Angeles.Only one album, but it was a great one.
