Babystart FertilFocus Ovulation Microscope
Babystart FertilFocus Ovulation Microscope
Price: £20.08

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff! Much earlier indication of ovulation., 15 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This little gadget will safe money & increase chances as it shows ovulation several days earlier than any LH urine test. This cycle got the ferning pattern as soon as I was supposed to be on my fertile days according to a period tracker app & also corresponds well to my cervical fluid. I also had a play with it & looked at 1hr post coital cervix secretions on it - could just about see the little swimmers. However one needs very good vision & a completely steady hand for that. 5 stars from me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful, 15 Dec 2010
This review is from: Primary FRCA in a Box (Paperback)
Certainly covers all the essentials. Useful to keep in the bathroom/near the kettle for frequent knowledge bursts in between. ;-)
Super for last minute revision just before the exam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, love it, love it!!!, 15 Dec 2010
If I could only recommend one book that helped me with those graphs and drawings and how to talk through them in the Primary and Final FRCA - this is it!
Never would have been able to do it without. The penny is really dropping not just once, but numerous times with this one and you get a much better understanding and can remember details much better! I think this is a must! Covers definitely more than 70% of what they regularly ask. This combined with Podcasts, the FRCA in a box & some extra reading here & there (guidelines etc), a pinch of confidence and you're on your way!

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK, 15 Dec 2010
It's OK to have this, but I didn't feel it was really that essential. But hey, the more the merrier. If you have time, surely it doesn't harm to do some more MCQs. ;-)

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much information!!!, 15 Dec 2010
I guess this is one of the books one should have done & looked at & yes the information in there is somewhat essential. BUT... this is not the way we are supposed to write SAQs in the exam. Far too much information in every question. Bad structuring at times, I find.
It's good to get knowledge on board, but do this at the end, once you got the hang of it. Start with Pastests Total Revision for Final FRCA, which is brilliant & has just the right amount of detail for every SAQ (and also MCQ's & Viva questions), then move onto the RCOA book (4 repeat SAQs in my exam 2009), to see where the points are and how the examiners are scoring. Podcasts are brilliant & of course the guidlines from various places! "Essential" and relevant articles from the BJA supplement journal. Good luck!

4.0 out of 5 stars Once it works it's great!!!, 15 Dec 2010
Bought this a year ago. Broken down within a month, which was devastating. Made the mistake to send it back to Philips/Gaggia where it spent ages in the workshop, which was completely overloaded. Then got Amazon involved who hassle free offered an exchange. So asked for an exchange. Had the broken one sent back unrepaired from Philips & got a replacement which has been working absolutely fine since. Great machine, wonderful coffee. Milk island (purchased separately) works great as well. Couldn't live without this machine anymore.
I can really recommend this machine, even though the first one broke down pretty much straight away. If you do buy this one & it does break down, do the replacement via Amazon who were quick & very helpful. Stick to the weekly maintenance/clean as recommended by manufacturer to ensure it's working without any hiccups.
