What a refreshing change! For once, a 'self-help' book by an author who you feel is your equal, rather than a higher authority with whom you might try to play 'catch up'. From the first page, the author states that she hopes that eventually she will start getting her life right, and that she too is on the path of self discovery. How refreshingly honest! Little wonder that one of the mantras she offers is to ' be true to yourself and honest with others!'
So much about this book is utterly unique. For instance, its size, which is described as 'pocket sized' reminds me of affirmation cards rather than a laborious tome. It's so easy to pick up, flip to any page and read or re-read. When I have read self help books in the past, I've often thought to myself that the book is just reminding me of wisdom I'd forgotten. The great thing about this book is that it's so easy to re-read and therefore remember, those little nuggets, such as feeling gratitude, compassion and thinking positively. Many self help books seem to have one or two important points which are simply repeated over and over for a couple of hundred pages. This one makes several points in just 40 or so pages. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
