The Delinquents TP
The Delinquents TP
by Kano
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.68

5.0 out of 5 stars Delinquents, 1 Mar. 2015
This review is from: The Delinquents TP (Paperback)
In this book, we get a collection reprinting the 4 issue mini-series. This series features two pairs that have had their own books but this is their first team-up and what an adventure they go on! Archer was raised by a cult to hate an immortal demon beast named Armstrong, eventually they get over that and have a bunch of great adventures in their own title. The other duo (or trio actually since you can't forget the genetically enhanced super intelligent weaponized goat) is Quantum and Woody, 2 brothers who were involved in an accident at their fathers lab which gave them super powers. The four of them end up being on the same adventure and meet up and team up against their common goals and enemies in a race to a hobo treasure that starts with a map from the skinned backside of a Hobo. This book has a lot of laughs and I enjoyed every issue. Writen by Fred Van Lente and James Asmus who are the writers of the characters original series' and artwork by Kano.
I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

Archer & Armstrong Volume 6: American Wasteland TP
Archer & Armstrong Volume 6: American Wasteland TP
by Fred Van Lente
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.68

5.0 out of 5 stars American Wasteland, 1 Mar. 2015
The sixth volume of Archer and Armstrong reprints issues 20 through 23, and is the end of this great run by Fred Van Lente. In search of his birth parents, Archer along with Armstrong heads to Church of Retrology in Hollywood where he meets the Lizard King and a HUGE amount of other celebrities in this adventure. There is a lot of interesting things happening in this arc and I love the way Fred Van Lente has made this series so much fun. This series is ending with issue 25 with Fred Van Lente now doing Ivar, Timewalker every month focusing on Armstrongs time travelling brother.

Quantum and Woody Volume 3: Crooked Pasts, Present Tense
Quantum and Woody Volume 3: Crooked Pasts, Present Tense
by Tom Fowler
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.68

4.0 out of 5 stars Goat Origin, 1 Mar. 2015
In Quantum and Woody Volume 3 Crooked Pasts, Present Tense, we have the collection of issues 9-12 of Quantum and Woody and the origin of the goat in Goat 0! Issues 9-12 are the last story arc in the main series. After this Valiant has been releasing mini-series. In these we get a lot more jokes, woody re-uniting with an old girlfriend on a job to help him make some extra money. Quantum gets a job too, which kind of interferes with Woodys job. The goat and them will finally communicate and they learn some really big news about the Goat. Then the ERA come back into the story and we also get the origin of the Goat. All and all, a pretty good read by James Asmus and artwork by Kano. I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

Rai Volume 1: Welcome To New Japan
Rai Volume 1: Welcome To New Japan
by Clayton Crain
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.50

5.0 out of 5 stars The Return of Rai, 1 Mar. 2015
In Rai volume 1, we are treated to a collection reprinting issues 1-4 of the return of Rai into Valiants Universe. Rai was one of the most popular characters in the 90's and this new version is an improvement upon that. Written by Matt Kindt, with beautiful artwork by Clayton Crain, they are together crafting the landscape of this future timeline in New Japan. In the year 4001, Japan is a country floating in orbit and completely controlled by an artificial intelligence called "Father". The champion of Japan, the enforcer of Fathers law, Rai learns of the first murder in over a 1000 years and with the aid of several others, starts him a journey of discovery about Japan, Father and Silk, and many more. I really enjoy this new version of Rai and the work Kindt has put into imagining all of the different areas of this futuristic country. The art by Clayton Crain is absolutely beautiful.

I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

Harbinger Volume 6: Omegas TP
Harbinger Volume 6: Omegas TP
by Joshua Dysart
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Omegas, 1 Mar. 2015
In Harbinger Volume 6, Omegas, we get a collection of Harbinger: Omegas mini-series 1-3 and Harbinger: Bleeding Monk 0. After the main series ended in Harbinger Volume 5 with the Renegades going their separate ways, the Omegas mini is a short story arc which leads into the next volume, Imperium. After he has been revealed to the world Harada has a change in tactics. Always operating from the shadows, hiding behind his wealth, Harada must now take center stage to continue his work to bring salvation to the world, through whatever means he has to. We also see Peter in this story as he is just moving through life in a drugged up state, talking to impressions of dead friends as he tries to cope. Included as well is Bleeding Monk 0 which tells some of his history. He was integral to the Harbinger story as he foretold Harada and Peters struggle. This is a great collection and will prepare you for Imperium which is the continuing story of Harada by Joshua Dysart.

Harbinger Volume 5: Death of a Renegade TP
Harbinger Volume 5: Death of a Renegade TP
by Clayton Crain
Edition: Paperback
Price: £13.48

5.0 out of 5 stars Death of a Renegade, 1 Mar. 2015
In Harbinger Volume 5, Death of a Renegade, we get a big collection reprinting Harbinger 20-25. This starts right after the events in perfect day and as the title suggests, one of the renegades dies. After barely escaping from Harada in Volume 4, the team decides that they cannot keep running and decide they have to take the right to Harada directly. They create a plan to expose him for who he really is with their newest ally, Ax, a computer hacker. The aftermath of these issues is covered in Volume 6, which leads right into Imperium, the next chapter in Harbinger. Written by Josh Dysart, who crafts an amazing story yet again. I can't say enough good things about Harbinger and how great these stories are. The artwork by Clayton Crane and Khari Evans really compliments Dysarts storytelling. I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

Armor Hunters Volume 1 TP
Armor Hunters Volume 1 TP
by Doug Braithwaite
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.68

5.0 out of 5 stars Armor Hunters, 1 Mar. 2015
Ever since the introduction of the X-O Manowar Armor, it is one of the most powerful objects on earth. As we start to realize with the Armor Hunters crossover, there is much more to this armor than creator Robert Venditti had revealed. There are other armors out there in the universe that have been hunted for the ruin they bring their wearers and everyone around them. Elite Warriors trained in combat against these living armors have now set their sights on Earth to cleanse it of the armor worn by Aric and they don't care about the collateral damage. All that is required to read of this crossover is the Armor Hunters trade reprinting the mini-series but all of the tie-in collections really add to the story.

In Armor Hunters, we get a collection of the Armor Hunters 4 issue mini-series and aftermath. This is the main event of this crossover event and did not disappoint. Written by Robert Venditti, and art by Doug Braithwaite, a lot happens in these 5 issues while the Armor Hunters try to destroy Shanhara, the sentient armor worn by Aric. Something that doesn't happen very often at the end of a crossover event happens here too. This event has lasting consequences on Valiants Universe, and I appreciate that as a reader. I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

In Armor Hunters: Bloodshot, we get a collection of the 3 issue mini-series and Bloodshots origin story from Bloodshot #0. The 3 Armor Hunters issues are written by Joe Harris with artwork by Trevor Hairsine. In these 3 issues we see Bloodshot recruited by MERO to help in defending against the Armor hunters assault on their classified facility with weapons and a prisoner the hunters want. Bloodshot 0 is written by Matt Kindt with artwork by CrissCross. It provides some information on the origin of Bloodshot but leaves a lot still to be explored as well. I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

In Armor Hunters: Harbinger, we get a collection of the 3 issue mini-series and Harbinger Wars 1 which has the first appearance of Generation Zero who are featured in this story. Because of the aftermath of Harbinger volume 7, we only have Faith and Torque from the renegades here to join Generation Zero as they gather in Mexico to help in that area. The attacks there are brutal, and the heroes are in for the fight of their lives. Written by Joshua Dysart and artwork by Robert Gill, I was happy to get another Generation Zero story arc and hope we get even more of them in Imperium (the next chapter in the Harbinger story) or even better, their own book. Harbinger Wars 1 gives a bit of an introduction and some history of the Generation Zero team if you weren't around for Harbinger Wars. I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.

In Unity Volume 3: Armor Hunters, this collection reprints Unity 8-11 and is focused on showing how the Unity team (without Aric) deals with the Armor Hunters. Ninjack, Livewire and Gilad, the Eternal Warrior all have their jobs to do as the Armor Hunters launch a multi-pronged assault on Earth everywhere the armor had been sighted. From Psionic hounds terrorizing cities to hacking into Sentient space ships, Matt Kindt does a good job keeping the Unity team and their allies busy while Aric is busy in the Armor Hunters mini-series. Art by Stephen Segovia and Brian Reber compliments Kindts story.

I really enjoy all of Valiants titles, they put a lot of work into crafting good stories about characters you will care about and providing great artists to help tell that story.
