Album of the year (so far!), 12 July 2004
This is not the usual Brazilian fare you might expect from this label, and, in my opinion, is the best thing they've ever put out. The killer track is "Roll On" featuring the gorgeous voice of Eska Mtungwazi. If you've heard her on the (far inferior) New Sector Movements albums you need this song in your life. Pure uplifting soul, with killer Rhodes chords & bassline. The rest of the album is damn good too, mixing nu-jazz, bossa & breaks to great effect. Love the 60s-style vocal harmonies too! The only downer is the track with Steve Spacek singing on - what a boring soulless voice! Don't sleep on this - try it, you'll like it.
