5.0 out of 5 stars Is he really dead?, 23 Jan. 2015
This review is from: The Sandman (Kindle Edition)
There simply has to be a follow up novel .....

It would be cruel beyond belief if not ...... maybe Jo Nesbo really does have serious competition, after all. Its a long long time since I read a literary work within the space of a single day, but this .... well ... I couldn't put it down.

I`m new to Kepler and the first two in the trilogy, I found so-so. I certainly had difficulty in seeing Kepler as any sort of rival to Jo Nesbo, as has been touted. However, the third book just blew me away. Magnificent storytelling, not a single superfluous word ........ and a cast iron reason for me to buy The Sandman.

I had the distinct impression throughout, that little joy emanated from the writing of this literary offering. As if he was contracted to provide it, albeit there was nothing to write about. It's nothing more than a list of dropped names, and the diary passages were the epitome of boredom.

3.0 out of 5 stars In two minds, 9 Sept. 2014
With more background to the main character, this story could have been extremely good. As it was, our hero was never a believable entity. However, I enjoyed it sufficiently to buy another of his ...... so, as above, very much in two minds as to the storytelling ability of Mr Louth.

Clarkson is always entertaining. The secret to enjoying him? Don't take him too seriously.

Predictable, but still makes you smile ..... which, I guess, was the object of the exercise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surely this will be seen as a "classic" in years to come., 3 July 2014

A fascinating insight to the foundations of today's most powerful nation on earth. A microcosm of how people's attitudes have changed over a relatively short space of time. Even the statistic based baseball eulogies were readable and made interesting. This book deserves to be held in high esteem.

Life makes so much more sense in Jezza's impossible world. However, there always appears to be an underlying truth amidst his preposterousness. A basic reality if you like, where there are many, many wrongs to be righted, and untold thousands of stupid, brainwashed people who need corrective treatment if we are to survive as a human race. Is Clarkson the messiah in our midst? Well, he at least has the same initials.

Jezza is Marmite in the extreme. I love Marmite, and I find Clarkson equally as delicious. His tongue in cheek humour wins on two levels .... (a) its funny, and (b) its made even funnier by the reaction of people who believe he means every word he utters or writes. Full marks for his daring to continually raise his head above the parapet of political correctness and to endlessly point out the sheer stupidity of the nanny state. I so wish he would stand for Parliament!
