5.0 out of 5 stars Blu Ray Audio 24/96 the future of HiFi, 31 Dec 2013

Supertramp's Breakfast in America has some iconic songs on it made even better via Blu Ray Audio streaming at 24/96. I'm really pleased Amazon have embraced this format as it is an audiophile's dream. This disk has three listening formats LPCM Stereo DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby True HD but all mastered in stereo staying true to the original recording. I am however not knocking the 5.1 remasters I have on other Blu Ray Audio disks they sound awesome done right. If you are running your Blu Ray player straight into your tv you will not get the advantage of this format. If however you are running 5.1 through a good surround AV Amp then be prepared to be blown away by the sound quality. To all you knockers of 24/96 who think that CD quality of 16/48 sounds as good then you really are missing out. When studios bring out a new format there are always people who say "we don't really need 24/96 CD's are plenty good enough" I say this if it were left to people like that we would still be listening to mono recordings. My ears aren't 100% but I can hear the difference, the bandwidth of a Blu Ray disk is massive compared to a CD. Come on Amazon you must have some clout in the market have a word and get them to release more rock titles etc. I really hope Blu Ray Audio goes ballistic.

5.0 out of 5 stars A suitable format for a great album, 22 Dec 2013

Moving pictures is a great album with classic tracks. The Blu Ray Audio mixes are all sonic pleasure to the ears. If you have a Blu Ray player just hooked up to your tv then you will not get the benefit of this DVD. If however you have it hooked up to an av amp and 5.1 surround then you are in for the very best of digital music to date. Rush are a band that have been around a long time and they have always been at the forefront of technology,. They have two albums out on Blu Ray audio 2112 and this one Moving Pictures. You can hear how they developed their original style by the differences in the two albums. Neil Pearts drumming is amazing and this album really showcases his extraordinary talent. The DTS Master Audio mix of this album is stunning bringing room filling sound and the audio quality is up there with the best vinyl I've ever heard. I can highly recommend this album in this format. A true audiophiles delight. Let's have some more Blu Ray Audio please Rush.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blu Ray Audio the future of digital music, 5 Dec 2013

Enough has been said about 2112 already it is a great album by a great band. My comments are concerning the Blu Ray audio quality. Hopefully this format will take off as the sound quality is amazing. You have LPCM stereo streaming at studio quality 24 bit 96 khz. There is also DTS HD Master Audio they both sound superb. There is no loss and is as close to vinyl as you are going to get. To be honest if you have a Blu Ray player just coming through your television speakers you aren't going to get the best out of this format. If you have 5.1 surround then be prepared for a sonic delight. As the music is playing there is on screen pictures done like a comic book with the lyrics, truly interactive. All credit to Rush ever since I first heard A Farewell to Kings in 1977 there production quality and commitment to technology have been there with the best of them and this production doesn't disappoint. I really hope there is more titles available soon. Take note Rock bands it is the future.

I've been a Yeshead since I first heard them in the 70s, the Blu Ray remastered version is stunning. Now let me be perfectly blunt if you have a Blu Ray player running through your tele speakers you will not get the benefit of the sound quality. If you have full amped up surround with decent speakers and a Blu Ray that accepts DTS Hd Master Audio then prepare to be blown away. This disk is only as good as your system. The sound quality is as close to vynil as you will get digitally I really hope that this format takes off and doesn't fade into oblivion. If you are a traditionalist and think that it should only be listened to in stereo hey it's the 21st century embrace the technology you don't know what you are missing. Bring on Yessongs please.

When used in partnership with a Canon prime lens there is no visible loss of image quality.
The added 200 mm focal length it gave when added to my 500mm telephoto comes in very
useful when photographing birds and small mammals. It's build quality is excellent there is no
searching when autofocusing. An relatively inexpensive way of increasing the focal length of a
prime lens.
