5.0 out of 5 stars Light, good sound and no tangled wires, 28 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These headphones are light and have a surprisingly good sound. I use them on my commute - no more tangled wires and they fit under my beanie, so a plus all around. They're not Bose or Beats, but at the price a good deal. They connect and pair easily and charge quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great voice showcased by a superb backing band, 13 Jun. 2015
This review is from: Fatou (Audio CD)
Who needs to understand what Fatou is singing when her voice (at times joined by others) moves between storytelling and plaintive. A great voice accompanied by guitar and drums - you can almost feel the warmth coming through the speakers.

3.0 out of 5 stars A melancholy mix of folk and country to enjoy with a bottle of wine, 27 May 2015
Heard the title track on a freebie cd and it got me interested.
Melancholy sounding guitar and voice with a lot to say about life.
A mix of folk and country. Although I'm not big on country - there's the usual heart and heartache and then some - the result here is different.
Maybe Mr Ellis succeeds not just because the finished article isn't over produced but possibly because we may recognise elements of ourselves in his songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gloves that take a beating and come back for more, 12 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I don't enjoy wearing gloves - they're either too thin or too thick. I thought these would be too thin but they stood up to a lot - decorating, gardening, cleaning my bike and and more besides - often more than one job. Best of all I can 'feel' what I'm doing through them and they are a good length. Only reason I don't often re-use them is they get a bit sweaty inside. Can't believe I used the regular latex ones for so long - sometimes needed two pairs one over the other and unlike these they didn't even laast for one job.
Also, good efficient service from the seller.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a few listens to get into it, 12 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Absence (Audio CD)
Loved Worrisome Heart and the follow-up album. The absence has taken a long time to convert me probably because at first listen it sounds so different. But, after a few listens, you're rewarded with the unmistakeable way Melody has of warpping her voice around lyrics, giving the songs an almost exotic feel and even a trace of Fado.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good fit for my backpack, 12 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fits easily over my backpack which is usually quite loaded (incl my laptop). Only used in light rain but so far so good. Would recommend this as a well constructed and reasonably priced cover that fits the bag!

I'm a Richard Hawley fan, so probably a bit biased. Good on the first listen and improves each time - a bit like enjoying your favourite wine

4.0 out of 5 stars it provides easy access for h/phones and usb, 22 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This arrived speedily - thanks Torro. I've had it less than a week so I'm unable to tell how it will stand up to life's scrapes and knocks. But it really does look the business - probably because of the contrast stitching and little red bull cutout!
It's also not too big and apart from not having access to the volume controls and ring/silent switch when closed, which is no big deal, it provides easy access for h/phones and usb.
Hard to tell whether it's real leather but I was after a smart looking robust and different case/cover that wasn't too expensive, cheap or flashy, so for me this ticks the boxes.
It's constructed so that you can carry up to 3 cards and a few notes inside without putting pressure on the magnetic closure which seems up to the job . I'm likely to use it occassionally in this way, so it's nice to know I can.
So far so good - I look forward to seeing which of the bull images it lives up to - hopefully the tough one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love and relationships - not quite the meaning of life, but pleasant easy listening, 27 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Passi D'autore (Audio CD)
Pino's voice and arrangement of songs has matured. There's a lot more musing about the loving aspect of relationships - with elements of choral singing which is at times almost reverential. Perhaps the effect is not as urgent as some of his previous music or maybe he's is a better place, but there is something soothing about his mellow voice and easy delivery that drives you along this fairly easy listening road
