5.0 out of 5 stars Great album but..., 17 Dec. 2010
This review is from: QR III (Audio CD)
Great album but I must stress about this particular remaster. Upon recieving the CD, the first two tracks sounded fine however as the rest of the tracks were played I noticed the sound wasn't particually good. The vocals in places seemed drowned by the music and the guitar etc sounded very mucky. I wondered if it was perhaps the production of this original release however I resorted to downloading a couple of tracks from the original CD version and compared them. Immediately the original tracks sound clearer and cleaner. Very disappointed in this remaster although the inserts/booklet were top quality. The original of this album is more expensive but it's worth getting between the two.

Great to see Noddy back, if only for one track. He proves to us he's still got the magic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Remixes, 15 Jan. 2010
Definitely worth getting this album, some great remixes on this album, although the Love Train remix isn't terribly interesting, the Atomic City remix isn't bad at all but once the Perfume remix starts playing the album really kicks in, a great remix of Perfume from Holly's first album Blast. The Americanos mix is fun, Heaven's Here is a brilliantly made remix and the album finishes off with Hollelujah, a fun 80s sounding instrumental of the famous track.

1. Love Train (Americanos Big Beat Version)
2. Atomic City (Enviro - Mental Mix)
3. Perfume (Aromatherapy-mix)
4. Americanos (The Perfect Taco Mix)
5. Heaven's Here (Mount Olympus Mix)
6. Hollelujah

5.0 out of 5 stars Soulstream, 21 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Soulstream (Audio CD)
Holly Johnson's 1999 album Soulstream is probably one of the best albums i've heard in a while where all tracks have something about them. His latest album to date shows Holly recording and producing this album (mostly) himself. The album gives off messages of hope and love. The results are excellent.

The album opens with 'Lady Luck', a nice but sorrow opener with a great message of hope in the chorus. A catchy track. 'Soulstream' may be my least favourite of the album but the lyrics are interesting whilst Holly's vocals make the track worth while. 'Disco Heaven' may not be to everyone's taste however after a few listens the track will grow on you. The lyrics are fun, Holly gives his best and the chorus is memorable. The track has a nice message too. 'Don't Give Up' is a decent track with a uplifting chorus. The vocals stand out well. 'Hope' is another track with a memorable chorus and a brilliant message. 'The Best Invention' has a very catchy tune, great vocals and some memorable lyrics. The song is put together nicely. The same goes for 'Hallelujah' which has a catchy chorus. 'All U Need Is Love' is a fun track with a catchy chorus. 'Legenday Children' is a re-working of Holly's 1994 song which although fits more with a homosexual crowd, the song is catchy and well presented. 'The Power Of Love' is no doubt the highlight of the album. A re-working of Holly's hit with Frankie Goes To Hollywood. This version is well made with some great vocals. The track was released as a single which made #56 in the UK. 'Urban Jungle/In The House Of The Rising Sun' is a nice finish to the album with some nice arrangement from Holly. The vocals stand out well and the tune is catchy.

A brilliant album which doesn't come cheap (bought mine for £17) but is worth getting a copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 12 Sept. 2009
Excellent album from Holly Johnson, sadly not well known. Some great tracks on here with very catchy tunes! The lyrics are well written and Holly's vocals are great. Recommended.

'Across The Universe' is the albums opener and has some very catchy lyrics, a great dance track. 'When The Party's Over' has some very interesting lyrics and the chorus is memorable. 'The People Want To Dance' is another example of a some interesting lyrics. 'I Need Your Love' is a nice ballad with some nicely done vocals. The chorus is very uplifting. 'Boyfriend 65' features some backing vocals from Kirsty Maccoll, although different to the rest of the album, the song is catchy. 'Where Has Love Gone' is one of the stand outs on the album. A great tune to it and a very catchy chorus. Holly's vocals stand out perfectly. 'Penny Arcade' has interesting lyrics and a memorable tune. The chorus stands out well. 'Do It For Love' is one of the best tracks of the album. Catchy tune, interesting lyrics and an amazing chorus. 'You're A Hit' is a calmer track which shows Holly's vocals well. The lyrics are interesting. 'The Great Love Story' is a nice track to finish the album off, a song of a sadder nature which shows some great vocals from Holly.

5.0 out of 5 stars What Can I Say?, 12 Sept. 2009
This review is from: Blast (Audio CD)
Other than this is a excellent album from Holly Johnson, Love Train is a brilliant song. A feel good album.

The album starts off with the brilliant 'Atomic City' which has great vocals and some catchy lyrics. 'Heaven's Here' is a lush ballad which shows the great vocals from Holly as well as a memorable tune. 'Americanos' is probably the best known song from Holly. A instant hit of the time with its extremely catchy chorus, well written lyrics and tune. 'Deep In Love' is a very catchy track with some nice lyrics. 'S.U.C.C.E.S.S.' although isn't a stand out track, the words are memorable. The 'Love Train' track has to be my favourite track of all time. The lyrics are incredible, the tune fits perfectly and the chorus is catchy. 'Got It Made' shows Holly's vocals well with a memorable chorus. 'Love Will Come' has some brilliant lyrics. 'Perfume' is a catchy dance track. 'Feel Good' shows one of the stand outs on the album. Holy's vocals are incredible and the song is a catchy but calmer track to finish the album.

Jim Carrey in one of his best films. Good scenery and good story line. Very funny movie from start to the end. Taurus Award and Teen Choice Award was won by this film. It should have been an Oscar for Jim Carrey. If you like Jim Carrey you will enjoy this film.
