5.0 out of 5 stars Oh yes., 28 April 2009
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Im not a big fan of "greatest hits" CDs & i know that they have made some great studio Albums but this is a serious piece of work, never mind the the cover, the triumph of death.Osborne,Iommi,Ward & Butler are all on the top of thier game.11 great tracks,NIB,Iron Man & War Pigs just to name 3,buy it & play it loud, very loud.

Being a newcomer to Jazz i was told to buy this CD,im told its a classic,I listened to it,then played it over again.I have never heard sounds like this before,im amazed at the level of playing skill,Listen to the 9 min" peace" or the blistering Eventually. It blew my socks off.All done with a plastic Sax by Ornette Coleman.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its growing on me,like a rash., 28 April 2009
This is my first & only trip into the world of Atomic Rooster. They seem to be a cross between Black Sabbath & Jethro Tull, its dark & dull then upbeat & tunefull. Its like being hit round the head for 60 mins & i found it hard to listen to the entire CD in one sitting. Its not all bad, there is some good points.Vug was quite funky & Tomorrow Night is cracking, the title track Death Walks Behind You is a real mix,a slow creepy start that builds & builds to what i thought was a monumental climax or a great guitar solo,it never came.An interesting disc that i will keep listening to.

This is the most modern tull i have & it is bloody awful.Ian Anderson sounds like crap & a different singer from early tull, his voice is thin & hard following some problems.I really cannot tell anybody to buy this get stand up instead.

Wow ,what a disc i did hear this about 20 years ago on tape & i had forgot just how dazzling freddie is.Not a bad track on the entire cd & his voice is amazing, the playing is stunning just try sugar sweet with its almost discord opening notes or the pure instumental pulp wood.I had a dream is pure electic blues with freddie sounding great, the jj cale number i got the same old blues never sounded this good before, buy this with confidence you will not be sorry.
