My Little Pony Equestrian Girls Sugar Coat Sporty Style Motocross Doll
My Little Pony Equestrian Girls Sugar Coat Sporty Style Motocross Doll
Price: £21.29

5.0 out of 5 stars A sporty Pony? A great addition to the collection., 17 April 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Sugarcoat is a new My Little Pony, so there's a good chance you won't have this one in your collection yet. She appears in Equestria Girls: Friendship Games (the films) and not in the television series Friendship is Magic. It's interesting to see a sporty MLP doll, since previously they have been somewhat similar in approach (although varied in colour and style).

There's an interesting reason to buy this series of Equestria Girls MLPs, which is their special necklace. The MLP apps are well designed and my girls spend a fair bit of time absorbed in the Friendship is Magic game (handily included in Amazon Underground). The Friendship Games app, which they hadn't previously used, is a very different genre, however still uses the brand very well. When you scan in the necklace from the physical doll, a new mini-game is unlocked (I suspect each one in the series will unlock a themed game to the doll's dress-up. I foresee more dolls in this range invading the household.

The doll itself has the usual MLP hair to play with (always very tactile and hard-wearing) and a selection of accessories (helmet, boots, belt). Although my first thoughts were that it was perhaps a little boyish, that was clearly only my preconception as she joined her fellow dolls in no time, hair ponytailed and children engrossed.

An interesting addition to the series, Sugarcoat offers a new theme for doll play and the bonus unlock for digital play too. [insert motorbike noises]

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice...but smell not for me., 17 April 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I was really pleased to try this product as have experience of the Murad products and have been impressed so far. I used to be a big fan of toners, but haven't really bothered with them much in the last 10 years or so. I was also really pleased to see this as spray and had visions of quickly misting it on. Which isn't really the case!
So first off, the appearance is lovely and I expected a nice refreshing smell. It has to be said that everyone's olfactory senses are different....but this smell did not float my boat. Its quite rosy (which I actually normally quite like) but it has a distinct '"old person" smell to it in my opinion- it quite of reminds of my nans cold cream in smell (think 1940's)- I am early 40's, love lavender, geranium, oils- but this I found a bit 'odd' and a bit off putting. But as I said, people like different smells; you might love it.
I scoured the outside box, leaflet and instructions sheet for full instructions- but is doesn't make it easy to find out whether you are to spray it directly onto the face or not; I know from experience, now, that it will hurt your eyelids- and is not to be applied there really. Best applied to a cotton pad and wiped over the face to remove last bits of dirt- but it doesn't tell you to do that- it tells you to apply- now on a bottle without a spray, there would be no need to be more detailed- but I think this does need clarifying by Murad. I honestly couldn't find it anywhere about not spraying directly on the face.
So on to how it actually worked- it did feel nice, and removed last bits of dirt- but I would not purchase as the smell was not for me. If I suddenly find beyond glowing skin in 4 weeks I will repost!

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what is says...and a nice design too!, 15 April 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a nicely designed and well made protective cover. Its a basic design but finished to a good standard, and the leather look badge finish does look the part. Inside is made of good quality velour type fabric and between the two layers is an thin layer of padding to give the protection needed and ensure that the the felt is not floppy. It has a handy front pocket and two pockets on the reverse. However the reverse pockets have no way of closing and so if you were travelling with this you would need to consider if it would suit your needs. I find this very happy to suit my needs- which is a basically a little extra protection with children running about, and protecting my mac from dust and dirt a little more when not being used. I would very happily pop it into a normal bag to take out and about with me.

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Price: £139.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just a pretty face., 14 April 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
There are a few minor negative points with the G810, which I'll dispense with at the start. If you are upgrading a previous Logitech gaming keyboard the ARX control app won't recognise the keyboard until you reinstall it. The app functionality is still a little weak, although CPU analysis etc is well done. Which LED profile is loaded is sometimes hit and miss, the result of the software being a little buggy and the interface is a tad confusing. That's all all the bad news about this premium keyboard though.

The good news: Awesome LED control, absolute customisation with some fantastic preset profiles (some of which can be seen in the video at the top). It recognises many installed games and allows you to customise the required game keys in the LED profile builder. This way you can create your colour coded LED layout without loading the game, but knowing all the functions you will need to map, Handy. I'm not currently using a Logitech mouse, however they synchronise colour switching, which must look awesome. As a long term gamer this LED suite is currently unparalleled.

The Romer-G mechanical keys are an excellent half-way house for newcomers to mechanical keyboards. Softer, less noisy, switches than the competition, which actually deliver an even faster reaction time. Although there is still a click (since they are switched) it's bearable in a social/family environment. The profile is still raised, as all other mechanical switch keyboards.

Unlike the tenkeyless version (K410), the G810 has easy to access volume control (roller switch) which is very handy and simple media control buttons. It also has LED on/off and a Windows Key disable buttons.

Gamers who are out for an LED keyboard are in for a treat with the G810. In low light/dark environments it comes to life. More than just a image though, the keyboard offers very good mechanical switch keys and feels solidly built.

Murad Resurgence Age-Diffusing Firming Mask 50 ml
Murad Resurgence Age-Diffusing Firming Mask 50 ml
Price: £63.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Visible results, for finer lines., 14 April 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The science of moisturisers is becoming fairly complex and the good news is that with some of the products the results are visible, not just offering a placebo. This Murad product is pump dispensed, which I always find useful, and is instantly absorbed, leaving a faint hint of the mask once applied. You may prefer a visible mask, this is not. Once on, you can fell it at work, although it doesn't sting like some of the harsher chemical masks. Once washed away, skin feels plumper immediately. This plumping pushes away some finer lines, delivering on the claims Murad make. I'm not entirely sold on the odour, which is somewhere between clinical and fresh, but not actually either.

This does what it says on the box! A fairly premium product which comes from an established and trusted brand.

Dropi Pure Icelandic Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil Capsules - Pack of 120
Dropi Pure Icelandic Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil Capsules - Pack of 120
Offered by The Health Cloud
Price: £34.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Higher end oil, 8 April 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
In the short term, health supplements are almost impossible to recognise as being beneficial. There is a massive choice too, so making a decision on purchasing is pretty tricky. I've been taking fish oil capsules for a few years now and there are some easily identifiable benefits (or lack of) that can be readily made.

Firstly these are easy to swallow, however they are quite small, There's a good chance you may need more than one to achieve your RDA. Great if you have issues with larger capsules.
Secondly, there is no fish taste or smell after taking the capsule. Cheaper capsules tend to repeat and I found no issues with these.
Thirdly, these are ecologically sound. It will always be more expensive to purchase capsules from sustainable sources, which also have no added artificial ingredients. Standard quantity vs. quality.

Dropi are certainly out to impress with the design too, not just the ingredients. The packaging is uber-stylish and feels very premium. A glass container, sealed upon arrival (not just silica crystals as per the factory rolled out alternatives).

Pricey but decent.

Better Late than Dead (PC DVD)

3.0 out of 5 stars Middle of the road survival game, with an original story element., 27 Mar. 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The survival genre is rather packed right now, with many of the games emerging from Early Access on Steam. Better Late Than Dead is a fairly standard entry. Washed up in a procedurally generated landmass, you'll need to scavenge, craft, build and fight to survive the ordeal.

Graphically it's pleasant enough, however I scaled it down from 1920x1080 and found the game world a little easier on the eyes. That could have been the limitation of my Nvidia card though (GTX670) although is an uncommon requirement for any of my 3D games. The animations however are poor and look rather wooden. Finding items can be tricky and there is a often needed Perception mode to be able to locate items which blend in with the scenery. I found the required scrutiny a little tiresome.

The survival element is punishing. On my first attempt, after fifteen minutes of looting I had failed to find a weapon and died at the jaws of komodo dragon. Second time around I lasted a lot longer, however found the repetitive searching for loot to craft items a bit of a bore. That game mechanic is the same throughout the genre, however the is not attempt to make it interesting or engaging in BLTD. The interface is uncluttered giving maximum space for the game world, however inventory screen lacks a simple drag and drop approach. Eventually crafting leads to better things, buildings etc, however I'm not sure I'll have the patience to get that far. Mutliplayer (via IP, so easiestwith friends) is what brings that element to life. There are no server lists.

There are redeeming features too. This is aimed at the permadeath fans and seeks a realistic approach (hunger, thirst, injuries, need for shelter) which ratchets up the immersion. There is also a mystery theme to be unravelled through finding notes in most buildings and surrounding areas. This creates a story, rather then just a survival game.

Currently there are no Steam achievements or trading cards, however the developers are very active and are adding new features and tweaks (just out of Early Access). Right now there are a lot of ways to improve BLTD and it feels fairly Indie in it's approach. Worth a shot if you are a fan of the genre, but there are better options out there for a little more cash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take your desktop to a new level., 27 Mar. 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A mousemat for those with gamers with a significant desk-space. This XXL pad delivers a great experience for gamers who want to ensure their high DPI gaming mouse to provide flawless results. I tested it out the pad with a Corsair which can scale up to 10,000 DPI (although I'm not sure who actually uses that high DPI for gaming, without reducing the in-game sensitivity, and that's a debate for elsewhere) and it certainly was a smooth performance - the mouse moves precisely to your whim, without any friction. The mat is large enough to go under both the keyboard and mouse.

There's a striking impact visually too. Like most gaming equipment, my Corsair Sabre mouse and Logitech G410 keyboard are black, with illumination. Against the pitch black surface the peripherals are invisible, bar the lit keys/mouse LEDs. This really helps immersion and looks awesome.

The base of the mat is very tactile, ensuring it does not slip or move during use. Bigger is certainly better with mousemats and it's handy never to reach the edge, either with your hand, wrist or the mouse itself.

Take a moment to measure up to make sure you have the space first. Speedlink do provide other large scale mats which are smaller than the XXL. If you have the space or frequent LAN parties where you can claim your turf then this is a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely fresh fragrance and detangling, 23 Mar. 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is part of a range which recommend a 3 part hair washing routine of using a pre wash, shampoo and conditioner- however this review focuses on the conditioner as I was not able to try the other 2 items- I expect optimum results are achieved if using their recommended 3 part system.
However I can say that this conditioner smells lovely ( a kind of fruity, melon/cucumber fresh fragrance), and has a good consistency- it certainly feels very moisturising during application and detangles quickly. Afterwards my hair felt soft and clean, and did feel a little less heavy. My hair looked bouncy and felt fine for the next day- which is normal for me- however based on using just the conditioner I certainly couldn't leave my hair for 72 hours without washing- this may be possible if using the two other products in your washing routine. I would be tempted to purchase these items and the conditioner again in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for OCD travellers! Also great for parents., 23 Mar. 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
If you've never heard of such a product, or own a floordrobe rather than a wardrobe, you can probably move on. These soft material, relatively expandable little boxes allow a thoughtful approach to packing small items for travel. You could utilise them for home storage, although I wracked my brain and decided that they definitely complement a suitcase or hand-luggage better.

They make unpacking a breeze, especially if more than one of you share, or mix up, luggage space. This was particularly true for the children's items. Being able to separate one child's goods in hand-luggage from the other's was genius. For just a day out, one cube kept both of the children's paraphernalia in one place, stopping it from a bottle takeover of the day bag. For the beach we will take a spare, likely to return full of shells etc.

Being fabric, they collapse and take no space - fat more convenient than hard boxes, and they are far more durable than carrier bags. The mesh side is a great way to be able to identify contents, which allowing for expansion of the cube. The handles a deaf handy addition too. These have been well designed and made.

In fact, the more we used them, the more handy they became. Today, simple luggage compartmentalisation - tomorrow the world!
