5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous change of pace for Modern metal really opening doors up, 9 Jun. 2015

Absolutely brilliant this album has managed to combine all kinds of inspirations really well. The music flows really well with some nice unexpected tangents to surprise the listeners. The Opening track Be ready" is awesome it has a Djenty electronic metal riff before it just suddenly changes pace to a Latino, 70's funk Verse. This might sound like it wouldn't and should't work but it does the band does it in just the right way even so it can be really Jarring to the listener this kind of things happens through out the album there is Extremely heavy bass in the album with Extended range instruments and Reggae and syncopation with a mix of growled and melodic vocals and interesting harmonies. Indeed the band have really done a brilliant set with this album the only argument is the perhaps sterile sound production which many bands are opting for now it kind of has a weird effect where when the bass comes in the music somehow gets quieter like the opposite of compression a bit like noise gate or something. Otherwise a brilliant album

I put this on not wondering what to expect and I have to say I Really liked it It was not what I expected Neal has managed to change his sound enough just enough to stop himself going rather stale in terms of wishy washy ( supposed Prog) keyboard sounds this however has a bit more guitar although that could have chosen some weird sounds too however I like the album the bass and drums are nice and strong in their sounds nad pushed forward in the mix the songs are catchy too especially number 4 which I forgot the name of how Ironic

One of my favourite A7x albums On vinyl yay I was a little bit disappointed about the level of distortion there seemed to be though there was like distortion in the distortion in the guitars which was just a bit weird really but hey ho :D

My particular copy came with a bit of goo on the actual disc which was a bit worrying but it didn't affect the actual album which I mostly bought simply to say I own a copy and because I wanted the massive artwork really there fore I love it

4.0 out of 5 stars A Very Dark Testimony album of thanks giving and warnings, 15 May 2015

Heavier than most Christian music out there and not so soppy or sappy either It comes across as a religously themed Korn album really although religiously themed is the wrong word it is more likeHead trying to justify his new found faith. The actual songs are pretty good though a little bit too dark maybe or drudgy but I like it non the less he has since rejoined Korn and gone on to bigger and better things in his solo career but this is worth picking up if just to hear his testimony

Well this is just the Awesome album but on vinyl on vinyl it is exactly the same only it is on vinyl it doesn't really sound any different on vinyl because it was recorded digitally there is a slightly more natural balance and space with in the music but it is hardly noticeable unless you make yourself hear which means it isn't really there Still It is nice to own on vinyl because of the big big Artwork size and the face it is a vinyl so yay

Skydancer
Skydancer
Price: £8.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Earthy metalcore with lots of electronic tech wizardry, 15 May 2015
This review is from: Skydancer (Audio CD)
I short sharp shock to the senses This album is a metal core album with a djenty sound to the guitar sounds love of 7 string guitars and the like. There is plenty of heavy bass driven chuggy riffs with melodic lead guitars. Shouty vocals and a nice clean vocals while the band as a whole don't really offer up anything new they do have their own sound within the metal genres which is definatly across between Metalcore and the tonal side of djent with a light dusting of electronic wizardy either in terms of production or with in the music itself. The album is actually very good very short though at only 33 minutes long however this length is actually very concise and to the point the band haven't left any trimmings or pointless ness they get in say what they want to say and then leave Which is the way metal should be for the most part. All in all I like it rather a lot and it is worth a try. The Clean Vocals are a little bit girly but they actually suit the songs quite well as a contrast to the gruff man vocals.

Price: £9.92

3.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic but let down by cd split, 19 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The music on the albums is absolutely fantastic and faultless However it is let down a little bit by the fact that one of the albums is split on to two c.ds I don't mind to much because The album itself is quite hard to get at a reasonable price these days ( at learst I have not found it cheaper than £30) so it is nice to just be able to hear it luckily it doesn't cut through a song At least. The actual music though is just brilliantly astounding I will acquire these on separate c.ds at some point I love Pauls . Use of bass

4.0 out of 5 stars high calibre songs and safe commercial direction on this one, 19 April 2015

The band have played it a bit safer on this one this isn't a good or a bad thing it just. The songs are catchy and carry good messages with singalong choruses that can get stuck in your head the production is very modern and safe shiny and clean crystal. they have happy joyful songs nad what I like to call thought provoking songs along with a few (Warning) songs which are like dark versions of thought provoking songs. Waiting for the night to fall is a warning song. But the band have also taken on a stronger Vocal base and the instrumentation is showing signs of being pushed to the back a bit which is oki but they are also processing it all a little bit Too much if you ask me despite this they have created an album with a large number of really good high calibre songs
