5.0 out of 5 stars Another Hugely Amusing Read, 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When I read Free Country I thoroughly enjoyed it and wondered how George could write another after such a unique first book. But he's managed it superbly - it's mad, funny, thought provoking and well written. I wonder where he can go from here? Perhaps he'd do well to take his zany story telling on the road a la Dave Gorman!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Enjoyable Look at Ex-Pat Life in Spain, 10 Dec. 2013
A thoroughly entertaining ramble through life in Spain for a brave "Brit" and his wife. Full of hilarious anecdotes - just hope that there will be a sequel (or two .... or three.....)

3.0 out of 5 stars useful if you're buying for the first time, 21 Sept. 2013

His negotiation skills sections are useful as are the parts on what to look for when inspecting a possible purchase. However as the book is written for the US market a lot of the information doesn't apply

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better than "Sell the Pig", 1 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Number two in the proposed trilogy and although it can be read "stand alone" I would recommend anyone to read "Sell the Pig" first as it really sets the scene. Tottie is warming to the task of getting to grips with both living in France and dealing with her "difficult" family. I loved every minute of this book but sadly, as it's only just been published, we're going to have to wait a long time for book three - bu.t it'll be worth the wait I'm sure

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved Every Word!!!!, 1 Sept. 2013

This review is from: Sell the Pig (Paperback)
Totty Limejuice (such an intriguing nom de plume which is explained in the text) writes so beautifully and yet so simply that her books are a joy to read and to become totally immersed in (the sequel "Is that Billinge Lump" has just been published). I'm not going to go through a synopsis of the book as I couldn't do it justice but she writes about her dysfunctional nearest and dearest and their ups and downs without a hint of feeling sorry for herself (although she would be fully entitled to wallow in it). Her glass is always at least half full and this comes through in the book which is sure to amuse, provoke thought and cause us to wonder at her resilience in the face of adversity.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the best read, 3 July 2013

Interesting but rather sugary sweet - anyone who has read in depth about the Queen Mother will know that she wasn't that perfect

Couldn't get on with this at all - couldn't get a close shave, wet or dry, and have gone back to disposable razors

This review is from: Pusser's Progress (Kindle Edition)
A brilliantly funny book - if you have a caravan or Motorhome you will sympathise with Pusser in some of his disasters. If you are thinking of buying one it will give some good tips and if you just want an easy, funny read then this is for you

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Put it Down, 3 July 2013

This was an excellent read. It's a great travelogue, with done brilliant tips and hints, but also it's hysterically funny and very well written. It covers a two year, 45,000km trip around Europe in a campervan - they then sell it to go off backpacking around the world - I just hope that there's a sequel.
