1.0 out of 5 stars DS Ripoff with super slow controls, 6 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
DS Ripoff with super slow controls..

basically this reminds me of the first Silent Hill Game, when you have to press the "attack" button WAY before the enemy is even near... an no way to cover ground for good.. so if you like Dark Souls and laggy controls, this is THE Title for you.. if you like to have your player character at your fingertips and it does what you want, stay back... it takes around 2 seconds for the medium clunky Cleric to carry out a strike. So all fights take endless time without purpose... i didnt expect a "devil may cry" playstyle.. but i press qa button and the char does something in under 2 seconds would have been good... so for me its de facto unplayable.. i rarely kick a game after the first Boss, but this i had.. too nerving.. too slow paced, too chunky, too laggy

3.0 out of 5 stars PS4? not sure.. more like PS3.5 with some cutbacks.. so no need to rush to buy one.., 19 Feb. 2014
This review is from: Sony PS4 Console (Black) (Console)
I avoided to buy one of the first generations, and i missed nothing..

all in all it was a "normal" unboxing experience and setting up the Ps4 was as expected easy and painless.. (also i still miss the "normal" audio out.. ) but the heck, i got HDMI TV and this works fine with me..

Ps4 is faster than the ps3 and the way the programs are kept open in the background is okay and contribute to the speed to navigate but somehow quite useless.

From the few games i played, basically "Warframe" and "Killzone", i can state that Grafix are good and the new controller is better than the old one..

... But problem is, there is almost nothing more to say about the Ps4..

i used my Ps3 more and more for the Mediafeatures.. watching movies and play songs.. the youtube connect feature was one of my favourites.. now im down to use payTV and PayAudio that doesnt even exist in my country (norway) so im basically down to use games..

No USB device support, so you cant bring any files to your console, no flashplayer means that you cant play anything on in the browser.. making it quite clear that sony wants me to buy stuff i already possess.. : namely music and videos.. i hope that the ps4 is narrowed down enough that the community feels obligues to crack it open and makes it a fullsize console again.. its not hard to add all those features that the ps4 is lacking, its basically been removed.. and as with the iPhone/Apple community i hope that there will be guys that open the system back to "normal"

as for game experience i can state that the grafics are smooth and the reaction time is great.. the "share" button is utterly useless and the options button is poorly placed. Using the touchpad is sometimes clumsy and doesnt respond fast enough (especially in "warframe" where it is a "normal" specialattack button.. ) and the lifetime with one charge of the controller ist quite poor.. on the other hand, the speaker on the controller is a good idea.. seperating messages for the player from the general sound.

all in all, no need to rush there are basically no games out by now and the ps3 still beats the ps4 by far when it comes to media...

2.0 out of 5 stars For those who don't like "grinding" .. rather a "No".., 15 Jan. 2014
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After all, reviews should be information for those who are about to purchase something if it suits your needs.. This game did not suit mine, maybe it would suit someone elses but not mine.

I didnt like "World of Warcraft" also and apparently a lot of people did/do..
So here my review for the casual gamer that doesnt like grinding..

I had to admit i was buying this game due to a recommedation and regrettet it.
i havent also played more than a couple of hours but i do not agree that a game cant be judged upon playing it just some hours, since the Game has to please me, not vice versa.

so basically a nice idea of a setting, waking up as an undead.. but as soon as i walked around i was already slightly annoyed about the "innovative controls" .. swinging a sword with the shoudlder buttons is not the smartest way, since using them (especially R1 and L1) will always take away some precision in aiming, pointing and such. (here is no such thing as in "train harder" since its just physiology of the hand and the tendons running under the part where you actually rest the controller) so this is a quite "unperfect" idea.. but nevertheless it should have worked..

the movements felt slightly delayed and to some point clumsy.. meaning if you want to evade, it takes some time for your player to react.. felt a little bit like the first Silent Hill series.. Hmm now thta i mentioned it, he whole Game felt a little bit like Silent Hill.. also the respawning Enemies, (which is, to me, VERY annoying..)

Don't get me wrong , i LOVE tricky games.. i mostly play on hard or insane, because i enjoy the challange and i am not afraid of taking a passage 10 or more times just to get a timelimit or something else, but grinding the same enemies over and over is not my kind of fun.. wasnt in Silkroad, not in Fiesta and not in WoW..

so to all potential buyers out there: be aware that this game grinds a LOT.. if you love it : perfect, if you hate it (like me ) dont buy..

(also i considered the story so far quite sleazy and random.. )

3.0 out of 5 stars you have no choice, use it.., 20 Oct. 2013
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars

well. i KNEW what i was ordering.. or at least i expected something...

mostly something like "Heavy rain" meets "Last of Us".. but it failed not only a little bit but a mile..
starting backwards:
the controls..

they are quite laggy, scripted and clumsy. means: if i walk out of a room where jodie has something to do, it stops me and i turn around.. sometimes in such odd way that you dont know where the right direction is..
also you dont have the impression that you "own" the control, you direct her.. slowly .
also ist absolutely unimportant if you win a fight or not, although íts nearly impossible to guess in which direction you should press the analog stick, since you could counter or evade or block and all of them have different directions..

the story.:
well its kinda great immersive and intense, but fractioned through those timejumps in the storyline.. i would have understood it when those occurrences would have been tied to the main story.. but instead it seems to be erratic and sometimes even meaningless. also the main story, once completed is nice material for a movie in this interactive movi its a bit too strict.. basically you cant alter anything.. which makes a second playthrough, also there are trophies to be obtained only by a second playthrough since they are tied to different choices.. absolutely undesireable.. its just not in my intention to play through all those bad decisions you made due to lack of information, which are sadly mandatory.. (it would have been a nice addition if the player would have been able to do that though , like NOT completing the mission in Africa, or the one in the snow went out with an agreement.. that would have been a headturner..

so its "only" movie.. the player has no choice in terms of outcome until the very end..

"sepcial edition". having the 30 minutes add-on is a joke.. enough said.

all in all: i am not satisfied with it. i would have liked it a little bit more like "Last of Us" some free roaming and loose ties to the progression.. Heavy Rain and Beyond are both not the best way to control the story.. LoU is in front of this..

so basically 3 stars... i would give 5 stars for the motion capturing from ellen and david.. this was/is awesome.. but thatsit..

2.0 out of 5 stars LP3 is far behind LP1/2, 10 Oct. 2013

This review is from: Lost Planet 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
Sometimes i just don't know..

Lost planet was a nice idea.. all that Manga Stuff entangled in Gundam /Armored Core / Heavy Machinery fighting was actually fun.. getting a big gatling and blasting ones way out of a horde of Monsters was cool.. Lost Planet topped it with bigger Monsters and even more quick and fast combat. you needed to be clever, quick and witty to take out the big Acrids.

Lost planet 3 ist somehow the "retro"- version of the other parts. Telling the story of the World before it was settled..Nice idea BUT..
The fights are clumsy, the RIG (the old version of the Battle robots) are slow, MORE clumsy and boring.
the world feels strickly linear, and getting from a to b is a pain the the you-know-what, even after fasttravel is enabled later it's still boring as hell to move your rig out of the hangar and "go" to the place where you can jump to the next place..

all in all a quite boring piece of boring history, rarely spiced and repetitive to the bone.. the story is quick, but sometimes the plotholes are eating up the fun.. and well.. "fighting" in the Rig is NOT as fun as it was with the "old" (New) Rigs..

Well all in all the engine is "nice".. not too good but still o.k.
i dont play multiplayer in those maps so i dont care about that part..

I rate the Campaign from which a wise man "yahtzee" has said once: every game must stand by the campaign or it ist
bad from the beginning.

SO, speaking of.

the story is rather "weird" and strange ... more like a 12 year old tells a tale in pen and paper RGP and forgets to
link all the events upfront..
but okay lets go for it. Its not the best but it tells a story, so that gets 2-3 stars..

Controls: Nahh.. though they are quite handy, the controls are sometimes rather annoying when it comes to close quarters.. beein stopped by a plastic doll, laying on the ground is Not funny.. also being struck when you try to crawl somewhere.. not nice..

Minigames.. dafug? what do they do here? its a FPS.. the one sequence i could even SEE the guy that was supposed to attack me and shot him in the head several times.. No use, had to get "caught" by him and had to do the stupid, "quickly press [R2] to not die ".. thing.. several times..
on top some reaaaaly strange things i had to do in the game and some weird shooting
all in all.. nothing special, nothing new, just grind and grind..

maybe Multiplayer only?

Sorry, but NO.

worst of the three and not worth buying.. lame story, few enemies, bad controls, poor plottwists, senseless customizations, too much overkill for no reason, too much needless stuff like customization of masks or tattoos instead of real working armor..

-> everything a This game did not need.

army of two part one is stilll the best part of this series and the only one that had the "right" amount of action versus Coop vesus THINKING!

the third part is made for rampage Kids only that enjoy goofing around by destroying.

Well, to be honest i didn't expected this Flute to be working, but i was too curious to resist. Normally Irish flutes are 500 GBP and up (actually some handcrafted up to 12000 GBP) So i tried this one in order to get a cheap traveling Flute.

When the Flute arrived i encountered that it was impossible to get a clear sound out of it.. The holes, especially the blow hole was burred and the quality of the joints and fittings was utterly bad. The cork on the fittings was glued together and made from small cork debris and not from cut cork. So it's been a try but it failed.. sended back almost immediately.

one star for its pretty appearence, surely nice on the wall..
