1.0 out of 5 stars If wanting the latest edition go to the publishers direct not an online seller., 15 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Be very wary ordering. Each edition looks the same and is only differentiated by a font point 8 line inside the book. Whilst these are brilliantly detailed, if you're wanting the latest you will need to order from the publishers directly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too expensive for what you get and unstable build design., 15 Sept. 2015
As with all non Lego owned themes there's a horrific premium put on these sets. This set however starts to take customers for granted.

In theory a great little set, however it suffers from the "that will do" in its design and construction techniques. As it comes out of the box and built according to the instructions the stability of the model is erratic at best. It can be easily fixed with a flat piece inserted underneath each of the floors. Each of the main scenes around Avengers Tower in the film can be recreated with this set. It has a ton of playability options, its just a shame they didn't check moving the set about other than on a surface.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only buy for the film not the extras, 28 Jun. 2011
The diff between the release you saw at the cinema or on initial dvd and the extend edition are near enouugh two different films.

Dont buy this if you're expecting tons of neat features and expo's on the making; as you're not going to get that. Buy this because you really love the film. If that's the case then you'll adore the expansion. The features are no different to anything you could have seen on the website or youtube.

2.0 out of 5 stars Worst of a great range of toys, 2 Jun. 2010

Unless you are experienced with model plastic kits and know how to glue plastic together without using superglue as well as not swamping the plastic with glue; DO NOT BUY this. Do a search and find the morgan mine set instead. This a far better alternative to this product - the morgan mine set. Similar price and only a minor variation of the key piece of this item.

The other reviewers are quite correct in that it falls apart at the slightest touch. What they are on about is the fall away ramp with the supports beneath it. This is the bit once very carefully glued together all the way to the orange track works. However without that piece being glued it really is a disastrous idea by learning curve. When it would stand up my 2 year old loved it and hasnt stopped playing with it. So there was an almost continual yell for "Daddy, broken please fix", whilst having christmas dinner. The otherside of the tracks which joins to the base of the helter skelter can connect up easily to the rest of the "take along / take n play" range.

The orange helter skelter works well and the music isnt that annoying although after several hundred plays on xmas day it gets a bit much. Do not be fooled by the pictures in the amazon advert, all you get is percy and thomas that's it. The chinese dragon shown is from the america-only version of the set.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true joy to hear, 5 Jan. 2009
This book was what got me hooked on miss marple and to hear Joan Hickson bring it to life is fantastic. She did as great a job with the miss marple tales as stephen fry did with the harry potter stories. Forget the BBC dramatisations go for the true thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great new beginning, 11 Nov. 2008
Having been subjected to the whole 8 series keeping the little ones occupied I was curious to see how this would work with a new voice and clearly american take on the tales.

Well the addition of Pierce Brosnan's voice as the narrator is a great choice and the story and songs kept my 23 month old captivated and happy for several hours. The songs are a change and he jiggles around to them with glee. The extras keep him entertained as well.

This makes a great gift to any thomas fan.
